Darth Maul has built and uses a double bladed lightsaber (sometimes refered to as a Lightstaff). Pushing his physical and force-assisted abilities to the utmost, he is able to wield his weopan with deadly accuracy. The Lightstaff is traditionally used only as a training device, because it can become much more dangerous to the user, rather than to an enemy. But in the hands of Darth Maul it becomes a whirling vortex of lethal energy.
