Proposal By Dana Summary: Assuming that the wedding in Course: Oblivion actually happened, how did Tom propose? Here's a story meant to answer that. Disclaimer: The people and the ship belongs to Paramount, the story belongs to me. Rated: PG ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tom walked into B'Elanna's quarters, more nervous than he had ever been before. B'Elanna appeared. "Hi, sit down," she said. "I replicated a pizza for dinner. I know it's your favorite." "Thanks," Tom said, pleased that she had remembered, then, re- membering his mission, blushed and looked down. "Are you okay?" B'Elanna gazed at him curiously. "You're not sick, are you?" she asked, feeling his forehead. "No, it's not that," Tom said. *Well, I guess I'll get this over with,* he thought. *It's now or never.* "B'Elanna," he started his rehearsed speech. "I love you very much, and, well, you know that in my past I've had a lot of girlfriends, but, well, you're different. I love you more than I ever thought I could love someone, and..." he fell to his knee, drawing a ring out of his pocket. "Will you marry me?" B'Elanna gasped, her eyes wide. Tom took her silence for a refusal and started talking really fast. "If you don't want to, that's okay. I mean, it's your choice, but....God, I love you!" "Yes," B'Elanna whispered. "What?" Tom asked, shocked. "Yes," she said louder and pulled him into a deep kiss. "I love you," she murmurred. "I love you, too, B'Elanna." Finis. Short and sweet, huh? Feedback is appreciated and adored.
