Marketing in Motion
Racecar Sponsorship

I would like to suggest to your company the idea of using our racecar and team as part of your advertising and promotions campaign! We’d like to develop a ‘Winning Team’ strategy that can increase interest, product sales and customer traffic for you.

Companies benefit by racecar sponsorship with logo exposure, product promotions and market penetration. Race fans are the perfect target demographics to help increase sales. Racing fans are educated, influential and professional consumers. Two-thirds are between the ages of 20 and 44.

Rolling billboards generate thousands of dollars worth of impressions which is an ideal and cost effective way to reach a captive audience who buy your products. Locally Merrittville Speedway has the largest sports audiences in the Niagara Area (3000/night). That means your advertising will reach over 72000 people at Merrittville alone, not including the other race tracks that we also race at!

Team Sponsorship is a unique opportunity to invest in your companies’ future. If your company currently advertises, give us a call, an e-mail and we’ll talk about how we can develop a ‘ Winning Team’ association. - HalliwellRacing@Mailcity.com – 1-905-937-8810

Papa Daves #89 in 1955

Brians Late Model ProStock

Halliwell Racing History

Papa Dave Halliwell got into racing in 1952 on the pitcrew of Orval Kelly who drove the #3 Modified! In 1953-54-55 he drove the #89 sportsman which he built with Bruce Van Dyke and was sponsored by "Bunting Garage" in Port Dalhousie. In 1956-60 Dave drove the #15J car which he built with his brother-in-law, Howie Roberts. Ray Stevens sponsored this car at the "City Service Garage". Winning over 10 features and many trophies, at the end of the 1960 season he was forced to move up or take a season off.

Staying involved in racing, he was elected safetyman and Tech Inspector for 1961 and 1962. In 1963 to 67, Dave drove the #23 Sportsman built by him and sponsored by " White Rose Gas Station" and later by "Sam’s Auto Service". This was his final year of racing, however he still has that racing bug and has been "Crew Chief" for his son Brian’s 1a Late Model Pro-Stock for the last 12 years. At the 1998 Merrittville Awards Banquet, he received a trophy for "Crew Chief of the Year".

Brian started racing in 1988 in the Amateur class. He won the Merrittville Amateur Points Championship the same year! He raced Amateur and Bombers until changing classes to Pro-Stock. He never looked back always finishing in the Top Five in the Track Championship Points usually competing against approx. 20 cars. 1997 was his best year accumulating many awards: "Most Improved Driver on DIRT", "Most Popular Driver at Merrittville" while finishing 2nd and 3rd at Merrittville and Gasport Speedways!
