F.A.Q.: Is Philosopher's Stone the same as Sorcerer's Stone and if so, why the change?
< >Yes, they are the same book. Scholastic (in the States) asked J. K. Rowling to find another title because they did not believe Americans would understand the word "Philosopher." J. K. Rowling obviously agreed and she picked out "Sorcerer." Both titles have now circulated all over the world.
