After The Rape:
(Lucky is walking through the park. Liz who is lying among the bushes, begins to move and tries to get to her knees. Lucky, who just passed by turns back. He hears whimpering and sees someone crawl out from beneath the bushes)
Lucky: "Who's there? (Liz looks up and Lucky sees her mascara and tear streaked face. He doesn't move, staring in disbelief. Finally he walks towards her) Oh my God, what the hell happened to you? Elizabeth, are you ok? (He reaches in for her, but she evades him, terrified) Elizabeth, it's Lucky. (She lets him help her up) Are you all right? Are you ok? (He gets her to her feet and starts to move her to the bench) It's ok. It's ok. It's ok. Ok, come on."
Liz: (Stuttering) "The--shoe came off and I--can't get it back on. I think I broke it. I can't get my shoe back on." (He finally gets her settled on the bench)
Lucky: (Kneeling in the snow beside her) "That's ok, that's ok, that's something I can fix, ok? Ok, here. (He looks at her legs and then her body and sees all the cuts and bruises) Tell me who did this to you."
Liz: (Shaking) "I don't know. I don't know. Oh, my Gram's bracelet. I've got to go get my Gram's bracelet. I must have lost it."
Lucky: "Elizabeth, that's not important right now."
Liz: "No, you don't understand. My grandfather gave her this bracelet and it means the world to her."
Lucky: (Trying to calm her) "We'll find it, ok? I promise. I promise. First we have to get the cops ok?"
Liz: "No."
Lucky: "We have to get you to the hospital."
Liz: "No!" (Upset, she swings around and scrapes the side of his face. She realizes what she's done and looks terrified again)
Lucky: "Look. Somebody--somebody slapped you around a little, that much I can see. I just want to help you. Ok?"
Liz: "You can't, you can't help me."
Lucky: "I'm getting you out of here. Ok? That's all I want to do."
Liz: (Getting upset again) "No, no. I can't go home. I can't go home right now."
Lucky: "Don't worry, I will take care of you. (They stare at each other until Liz finally trusts him and gets to her feet) Ok. Ok. Ok. It's ok. Ok. Come on." (He slowly walks her out of the park)
(Lucky opens the door to the Spencer house and leads Liz inside. Foster is sitting beside the door)
Lucky: "It's ok. It's ok. Don't worry. Foster's big, but he's friendly. Besides, your with me. Only with me, by the way. No one else is home. Have a seat. (Liz walks further into the room, very unsure) You want some water? Do you want me to get you anything to drink?"
Liz: "Can I--can I use your bathroom? I would like to clean up."
Lucky: "Listen to me, Elizabeth. I'm not sure if you should wash up or anything until you've been examined."
Liz: "I'm not going to the hospital. I'm fine."
Lucky: "No, your not, ok? You could have been hurt--inside. "
Liz: "I said no."
Lucky: "Ok, ok. No hospitals. I can work with that, ok. But can we compromise? I can call my Aunt Bobbie, ok? She's the head surgical nurse at General Hospital. You can trust her. Now, she can come over and look at you here, and she won't say a word if you don't want her to."
Liz: "Where's Sarah?"
Lucky: "I left Sarah at Kelly's with Deanie. Look, you need to put something dry on, ok? (He hands her a shirt) Put this on, ok? Ok? Ok. (He helps her slowly put on the shirt) Ok. I'm going to go call." (He walks over to the phone puts in some numbers. Meanwhile, Liz is trying to cover as much of herself with the shirt as possible) Hi, this is Lucky Spencer, Bobbie Spencer's nephew. I need to speak to her right away, please. Well, do you have any idea how long? Just closing up? Ok. Ok, thank you. (He hangs up and comes over to Liz) All right, listen. If I run over there, then I can probably catch her when she comes out of surgery and I can bring her back here. Ok? Will you be all right for 15 or 20 minutes by yourself? I will lock you up tight. Foster will not let anyone near you if I tell him not to."
Liz: (Nodding) "I would like some time alone. You know. "
Lucky: "Ok. Well, if your hungry you can get something in the kitchen. If you need to lie down or anything, my room's at the top of the stairs."
Liz: (Quietly) "Ok."
Lucky: "You're sure?"
Liz: "Ok."
Lucky: "I can just stay here if you don't want me to go, ok? I can just keep calling, or--"
Liz: "No. No, I'm fine. I'm fine. Just--just hurry back, ok?"
Lucky: "You got it. {Lucky walks to the door and bends down to Foster who is laying there) Foster, keep an eye on her, ok? I'm counting on you. (Turning to Liz) I'll be back."
(Foster comes into the room beside Liz. She looks at him warily, and then sits down, drawing her knees up and trying to cover herself as much as possible. Foster looks at her and suddenly she jumps up and runs upstairs)
(Liz pulls closed the shower curtain, and tries to wash her attack away. She gets out and puts on a robe. Meanwhile, a man is slowly walking up the steps to the house. She comes downstairs and sees a shadow outside the door. Suddenly the doorknob turns)
Liz: (She backs away, terrified) "No. No. No. No. No. No, no, stay away!"
Luke: (Opening the door and seeing Liz) "Hold on. It's ok. It's me, Luke--Luke Spencer. Lucky's dad, remember? I'm sorry. I--nobody's going to hurt you."
Liz: (Still shaking) "Mr. Spencer."
Luke: "Yeah. Yeah, and your Lizzie, right? Yeah, sure. It's ok. So, where's Lucky? Is he upstairs or--"
Lucky: (Rushing through the door) "I saw your car. I just hope you didn't scare her."
Luke: "Well, yeah, I scared her, and she scared me, but I think we're over it, aren't we, Lizzie?"
Liz: "Yeah."
Luke: "Bobbie."
Bobbie: (Coming to Liz's side) "I understand you're having a pretty rough night. You ok?"
Liz: "Yeah."
Lucky: (Turning to Luke) "She got jumped in the park, Dad."
Bobbie: "First of all, are you in any pain?"
Liz: "Pain? I hurt all over, if that's what you mean."
Bobbie: "Elizabeth, I’d like to know what happened. We can go upstairs if you want."
Liz: (Quickly) "I was walking to the park, and this guy, he came up from behind me. He grabbed me, he hit me, and he threw me to the ground. My Gram's bracelet--he broke my Gram's bracelet."
Bobbie: "All right listen, we're going to go upstairs so I can tend to some of these cuts and the rest can wait. Come on." (She leads her upstairs)
Luke: "Lucky? Talk to me. What happened?"
Lucky: (Walking towards him) "She was raped, Dad. She hasn't said it, but I know it. She was supposed to meet me at the dance, but she never showed, so I went looking for her."
Luke: "You found her in the park? It happened in the park? Where?"
Lucky: (With tears in his eyes) "She just kind of staggered out from the bushes. She looked bad, man. All bruised, and muddy and blood on her legs, you know it's like... Her dress was ripped, and she had one shoe in her hand. (A tear slides down his face) But you know the worst thing was her eyes. They looked like Grams used to. Like something so awful had happened, they couldn't bear to know it. And it's still in there, Dad, that look is still in there. Can you see it?"
Luke: "Yeah, I saw it."
