Got this response from a friend of mine and it was so funny I had to forward it. Its also true. The reason drowning children doen't make the nes is that its so common. But more kids die in 5 gal buckets than are killed in firearm accidents. Its newsworthy because its rare. I bleeped out most of his language

Not so sure it's that big if a deal. I wouldn't care to guess how many firearms have been transported in luggage WITHOUT incident. I used to just give my guns to the pilot on commercial aircraft (except for the one I was carrying, which I ALWAYS did). Now they make a big deal about it, and leave passengers at the mercy of terrorists who seem to manage to bypass all the "security" systems that disarm US.

Yeah, the guy was a f-cking d-ldo, no doubt about that. Any goofy sonofabitch that transports a rifle with a round in the chamber, much less can't open the case without having an "AD" (short for A$$hole Discharge) should have his f--king .338 Win. Mag fancy rifle wrapped around his neck. This guy had more money than brains, probably a fair golfer who had money and decided to prove his macho by going to Alaska and bagging one a them Polar Bears.

Stupid $hit! Apparently he forgot to show up at the firearms safety portion of his "hunting lessons". Or maybe he was just plain stupid.

But the a$$holes at the airline, the FAA , airport security and especially the press (read: communist propaganda organ) are milking it for all it's worth, and THAT'S bull$hit. Why should WE overreact and cower in fear every time some dumb c---sucker DOES f--k up? There are MILLIONS of car accidents and probably ten times as many near accidents every week. Do we all quiver and point fingers at everyone who does something stupid, worrying that "Oh MY GOD, they'll take our cars away"?

Nope. We just keep running our cars into each other. Meanwhile, gun related accidents are steadily dropping. Maybe we've come to accept the liberals "but if it saves just one life......" philosophy.

Interestingly enough, I noticed the rifle didn't discharge until they started f-=king with it.

I think maybe part of the solution is to have MORE "gun related accidents" instead of less. Let some of the liberals, outright communists, and so-called "news media" propaganda artists "accidentally" get shot, say with .458 Mags, maybe several thousand of the bastards. Pretty soon, it would become so common, people would just remark "Huh, another talking head from ABC took one in the head last night on TV. Some guy in the audience was checking the safety on his .378 MAG when it went off. Heh, heh, blew his brains all over that fancy desk and fake picture of Noo Yawk City behind him". And the other party would reply "Oh really? How about that! Where should we go for lunch today? Was that a synthetic or wood stock on the guy's rifle, BTW?".

I must be getting crankier in my old age. I'm so tired of everyone else being so worried about "MY" safety they want to remove any and everything from life that has the slightest possiblility of ever "hurting" anyone, even someone's oversensitive feelings, I'm beginning to react with the old "fuck you!" attitude. The world is full of morons. We need to get rid of the morons, not guns.
