HISTORY
2 years ago, i recieved my z24 as a birthday present and i was only
supposed to keep it for a year or so and then sell it. Well, you can now
guess what didnt happen. I decided to keep it and started out by doing small
things to it. The first thing i did was buy a blaupunkt deck was was good at the time.
This was followed by an audiovox alarm. I decided that i need more so
i baught a set of round fog lights, rainbow green, and i still wanted more.
As the months went by i finally said that this car is going to last me
until i kill it. Well sure enough, a month or so later i blew the transmission.
I wanted to sell it off but i just couldn't part with it so i replaced the tranny along with
2 engine mounts and i tranny mount which i snapped doing burnouts. I replaced the Blaupunkt
deck with a better one. A Kenwood KDC 8007 Excellon flip face deck.
This deck has it all, two color display, flip face, two built in crossovers, two RCA preamps,
4 volt preout, the list is pretty much endless. Next i moved up up to the big boys.
I baught 2 12wo JL subs powered by a zapco 200 amp whcih only pushes 200 watts, 2 channels, crossover.
This surprisingly pushes 138 db's. at the time of the testing, i didnt have my pioneer eq. now i guess i am around
140 - 141 db's. The eq makes a huge difference. i have 4 1/2 bose highs with tweeters pushing 100 watts. i also
have 6 1/2 kickers with tweeters pushing 250 watts.
I still have to install them. The current mods i have are a thrush muffler, a high flow cat,
and a mondza tip. I have lowered the car about 2 1/2 to 3 inhes in the front by putting in springs and sturts from an 86 cav
which is a 4 cylinder. the rear is dropped by my subs and box which is made from 3/4 inch wood.
i have a cone filter replacing the stock air filter and box.
I have baught ac delco rapidfire spark plugs, i am soon buying taylor wires and accel coils.
Future mods will include eiback lowering springs, engine rebuild with cam, and a bore of 30 000.
