Branalie was packing her things, getting ready to leave and walk out of the lives of the boys of Serial Joe, and out of Canada, forever. She would never look back."Branalie!" Jon's mom yelled up the stairs, "There's a visitor here to see you."
"Ok, as long as it's not Ryan..." Branalie yelled, not sure if she was heard.
"Hey Branalie. I heard you were leaving."
"Stever! This is so sweet of you to come and say good-bye. I'm sorry I never really got to know you."
"It's ok. I didn't really want to move in on Ryan's territory."
"So I'm his territory now?"
"No, I didn't mean it like that at all, what I was implying was that, I didn't want to start hitting on his girlfriend, when you were, and end up in some slugfest.""Sorry I snapped at you like that. I've had kindof a short fuse lately."
"No big deal. Jon told us that you snapped at him a lot when you guys were in Tennessee,"
"What? Jon told you about that?"
"Yea. After he got back. Ryan doesn't know about it though, he was in Alberta or somewhere. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't know Jon told me and Dan."
"Whatever. I'm just putting all this stuff behind me now. I'll go back to Tennessee, then I'm going to California to stay with a friend and maybe go to a school there that has a really good cheer program. It's another chance for me to start over."
"You won't forget me right?"
"Of course not! You and Dan have been the best guys in the world! And I'll never forget Ryan, it's Jon I could forget. He's been really bitter towards me lately."
"Jon gets really jealous. He's always been that way. He seems like the shy one, but he can be really outspoken sometimes."
"Tell me about it." Branalie mumbled as she walked over to her stereo and began packing it up. "I don't mean to be rude, Stever, but I really have a lot to do before my plane leaves tomorrow."
"No problem. I've got homework and stuff, so I'd better get going." Stever gave Branalie a hug.
"I'll write you a lot!" said Branalie as she let go from his hug.
"Dan and I are coming to the airport tomorrow, but I don't know if Ryan is. Do you want me to drag him out?"
"He can come if he wants. I don't care," she said, turning away.
"Oh, well- I guess I'll see you tomorrow then."
"Yea, bye."
Stever thought he heard a twinge, almost a crack in her voice, like she was going to cry, but there was nothing he could do. He was walking out of her room when he heard Branalie turn around.
"Stever? Do you think that you could give these to everybody, after I'm gone?" Branalie handed him four sealed envelopes, each with a boy's name on it. "Y'all can open them together, or separately, just don't read them until my plane leaves."
"Ok. I can do that."
"Thanks."
