ALBERTA Canada MY LITTLE PIECE OF THE WORLD

Alberta was officially made a province of Canada on September 1, 1905. Named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, 4th daughter of Queen Victoria. It's official population count for 2001 is 2,907,882 (unofficially is 2,962,664). Along with the Canadian flag we proudly fly our own provincial flag... | ||
...which bears the shield from our Coat of Arms. |

The borders of this Province surrounds an area of 661,190 Km2 or 255,286 sq miles. The shield truly does depict the beauty found here. From the blue skies and towering mountains to the rolling hills to the prairies that host acre upon acre of golden wheat and other grains. Rich with natural resources, I think one of the most beautiful ones that we host is the Wild Rose...our official flower. Although quite fragile looking, it is a hardy plant. Sharing the same bushes is a berry called Rosehip. A favorite of homemade jam and tea makers. A great source of Vitamin C, it is used to battle the common cold and other infections. Some use it topically on an infected area as a poultice.
