Questions with Answers.

Que1: Version[s]: 2002 / 2003

1.) Using Windows Explore, open your ICQ directory. Usually here: C:\Program Files\ICQ

2.) Look for the file: ICQRebootDll.exe
Note: Your file may be titled ICQRebootDll without the .exe extension showing.

3.) Right click on the file and choose "Open" from the pop-up menu.

4.) Once the file has completed executing, re-launch ICQ.

Que2: Version[s]: 2002 / 2003

More than likely your ICQ database has become corrupted. Running the Database Convertor may solve your problem. Here's how:

1.) Click: Start -> Programs -> ICQ -> ICQ Database Convertor.

2.) Choose the appropriate ICQ Owner from the drop down menu.

3.) Choose "All History" form the History options.

4.) Click "Next".

Que3: Version[s]: 2002 / 2003

More than likely your ICQ database has become corrupted. Running the Database Convertor may solve your problem. Here's how:

1.) Click: Start -> Programs -> ICQ -> ICQ Database Convertor.

2.) Choose the appropriate ICQ Owner from the drop down menu.

3.) Choose "All History" form the History options.

4.) Click "Next".

I tried the Database Convertor but ICQ is still aborting at start-up. Now what?
Your database may be too large to fix due to the size of your message history. Try the following and note that this procedure deletes message history permanently. You may want to make a back-up of your database folder before proceding. See info on back-up here

1.) Click: Start -> Programs -> ICQ -> ICQ Database Convertor.

2.) Choose the appropriate ICQ Owner from the drop down menu.

3.) Choose to convert only Last Years history from the History Options drop down menu. Once completed try re-launching your ICQ program. If the program aborts run the convertor again only this time choose the last 6 months history. Try launching ICQ. Continue the process converting less and less history until the final option of "No History Contacts List Only".
