The Ferrari 360 Modena

Despite the larger dimensions all around the 360 Modena, the F355 replacement is a crispier-looking coupe that aviods long-running design cues like a single-piece front air intake, pop-up headlamps, and finned door skins. The 360 Modena has a very good low coefficient ratio of 0.33, and does without the obvious spoilers and air dams.

The new Ferrari is similar in size to the Chevrolet Corvette, looks elegant and subtle as well as aggressive and purposeful. Features that stand out include the split grille that emphasizes the position of the front-mounted radiators, a pair of fixed high-tech headlamps covered by transparent lenses, and upper and lower intakes within the rear side panels, and four round taillights.

The six-speed transmission is mounted longitudinally instead of transversely, and the overall length has increased to 176.3 inches from 167.3 inches, giving the 360 Modena more luggage space and legroom than its predecessor.

The 360 is the first modern Ferrari with suspension, body, and chassis made entirely of aluminum. The brake calipers, wheels, rear subframe and the double-wishbone suspension are all make of light weight material, which decreases the overall weight of the vehicle and makes it faster.

Customer can choose from a paddle-shift F1-style transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox. The 40-valve DOHC engine can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds. The maximum power output has reached 394 bhp from 375 bhp at 8500 rpm, and maximum torque of 275 pound-feet. The top speed for the 360 Modena is 185 mph whereas the F355 did 185 mph.
