Earnest is a survivor of an attack from Balbazak. The rest of his family was killed and now only wants revenge. When you enter Pao again after defeating Elliot, you learn that he left for Uranbatol. The next battle determines how Earnest joins. If you defeat the Artillery first you see Earnest defeating a Cerberus, then opening a hidden door and joining. If you defeat the Hellhound first, just talk to Earnest to have him join. Either way, another strong knight has joined.

Strengths: Earnest gains stats well and has excellent attack power and great speed.

Weaknesses: Earnest starts out very weak. Poor defense later on.

Overall: Earnest is a good fighter. His defence is usually lower than other knights so be careful.
