Kane is one of the leaders of the Runefaust army. He is the one responsible for the deaths of the King of Guardiana and Varios. He owns the Sword of Darkness which he used to kill Varios.

Battle Abilities: 9/10

Kane is very powerful when you face him, even if you promoted at level 20. The Sword of Darkness allows him to cast Desoul not to mention his attack power of 65. This can even take a large chunk out of Guntz's HP, let alone kill Strong characters in one hit! However he cannot recover HP but is still immune to Magic. The best method to take him down is to have an archer stand close enough to the edge to snipe at the enemies above. you can do this to take out the Master Mage and slowly weaken Kane. The High Priest will start to heal Kane. Do this to drain all of his MP. Next you can weaken Kane till he dies or blitzkrieg Kane and the others on the ledge. Just make sure to keep everyone off the stairs or they will attack. And definitely keep Max away from Kane at ALL times.

After you defeat Kane, his mask breaks revealing the who he really is. Kane is apparently Max's brother. (Only mentioned in the japanese version of the game.) Kane is also dressed like a Hero much like Max. Darksol was just controlling him to use him as a minion, or because he was in Darksol's way. Kane then helps you open the door to the Manual of the Seal which Darksol so kindly takes away from you along with Kane. You later meet up with Kane again in Prompt where he was found, badly wounded. He convinces the king to let you go to the Tower of the Ancients. After reaching the top of the tower Darksol tries to raise Dark Dragon only to meet Kane again. Darksol, annoyed with Kane again finishes him off. Kane pleads Max to stop Darksol before passing away.
