It is so rewarding to watch how they use the lessons you have taught
them and what fine young adults they are
- amongst other experiences, for over a year I have been
co-facilitating a parenting program at an area Correctional Centre.
This program is the highlight of my career. The gentleman,
(yes, the inmates) are so receptive to information, to analyzing
their parenting practices and picking up on new ideas. Their
input, their experiences, and their insights are very inspirational,
educational, and perceptive!
- This website is a compilation of the many years of experience with
children, as well as watching and analyzing my own life and other adults in my life. I believe we do miss the beat most of the
time regarding teaching children how to cope with life's little
trials -- we tend to tell them what they can't do and what will
happen if they do it, but we sometimes forget to help them figure
out what TO do! (see the discipline page for more info)

This website is not here to tell you what to do or what is the
right way to parent/ educate. It is here to give you some things
to think about, to reaffirm what you are already doing, to remind you of
the important role you play in your children's lives, re-sparking the
passion to use every moment with your child to its greatest
potential--which can include just hanging out!
We hold the future in our hands -- be gentle!
