Do You Know Jesus?
If you don't then now is the time to find out about Him because you aren't guaranteed another minute of life let alone another day. It's my firm belief and the firm belief of many today that we are living in the end times. We don't know the day or hour of our Lord's return but we know one thing for certain - He is coming back. Are you ready? And Jesus told us we would know the season. How? In I Thessalonians 5:1-6. "Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you; for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, 'Peace and safety,' destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled." In this passage Paul is referring to the light of the Holy Spirit that lives in all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. What are the signs of His coming? They are too numerous to name them all but let me name a few for you now: "Nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains." Matthew 24:7-8 "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them." 2 Timothy 3:1-5 "Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them." Romans 1:28-32 "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons....They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth." 1 Timothy 4:1 & 3 "In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the sea. He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth." Isaiah 11:11-12 And the list goes on and on. What does Jesus say about these things? "When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." (Luke 21:28) My Friend, you are not guaranteed a tomorrow. "For he says, 'In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.' I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2) Where will you go when you die? If Jesus came back today, would you be ready? You can not prepare yourself through your own efforts; you can never be "good" enough for God; "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;..." (Isaiah 64:6); and "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). So how are you saved? Jesus said, "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved." (John 10:9) and "....I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6). The ONLY way to salvation is Jesus. We will all be held accountable for our sins in the day of judgment. Every one of God's laws must be obeyed in order to go to heaven but, just like human courts, there is a loophole. Only ONE loophole and His name is Jesus, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace. If you believe in Jesus you WILL have legal representation in God's Court of Law. And He is our loophole! There is NO other loophole in God's law. Don't go to God's Court of Law without representation! You will not win your case. Only Jesus can win it because He paid the price for your sins. Take the time NOW to ask God to forgive you of your sins. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and cleanse you of ALL unrighteousness, give your life to Him and He will make you right with God! There is no other way to get to heaven. You can not earn it. DON'T WAIT! You may not have a tomorrow. God loves you. He WANTS to take you into His loving arms, protect you, provide for you, be with you every moment of every day! He WANTS you to share your life, your fears, your joys with Him. Be ready for the time of the end. He Is Coming SOON!
