Charlotte County Stadium 2300 El Jobean Road Port Charlotte, FL 33948 The Rangers will return to Port Charlotte, Florida for the 16th consecutive year for Spring Training 2001. In 1996, the club signed a four-year extension to continue training at the site through 2001. The 82-acre baseball complex, built for the Rangers by Charlotte County, opened in February, 1987. It houses both the major and minor league spring training camps and serves as the homes of the Charlotte Rangers (Florida State League) and the Gulf Coast Rangers (Gulf Coast League). The facility includes the 5,336-seat Charlotte County Stadium and five other full fields. New indoor batting cages and weight room facilities were completed in February, 1998. Prior to 1987, the Washington/Texas franchise had held its spring training camp in Pompano Beach, Florida since 1961. Stadium is located 2.5 miles West of Tamiami Trail (Hwy. 41). Take Toledo Blade Rd., Exit #32 off I-75, to El Jobean Rd. and turn right. Paid parking at the ballpark Ballpark completed in 1986. Dimensions: 340' down foul lines and 410' to center. Seating Capacity: 6,026.
