Bob Perry's Saturday night programme 'Golden Showtime' includes the 'Golden Oldie' musicals in a range from Lilac Time and The Student Prince to Porgy & Bess and Kiss Me Kate.

He says, "Making the programmes has been a joy. Where else, other than a Hospital Radio studio, would you have the opportunity to be researcher, scriptwriter, producer and presenter in an hour long radio programme?"

"I am sure our budding young presenters are aware of the potentiality for careers in radio and in media in general that their studio training provides. For myself, I only wish I had had this experience 40 years ago!"
