I submitted to Devious, another Web Directory, and was rejected several times. This is the email I sent after I finally got fed up with them.

Subject: Dear Devious..
Dear Devious,
I want to know exactly what your policies and prejudices are pertaining to the listing/linking of free sites. If you are so arrogant that you would not even give me an explanation as to why I have been snubbed, I'll not be silenced until I receive one. I want to know why you state in your rules that you will list free sites that have no ads when you do not. If you are going to be so rude as to not even have the courage to tell me why I will not be listed, in the least you should change your "rules" to inform your visitors of your prejudices and waste less of both our time.
If you cannot remember which site I am referencing to, you should probably check your trash bins, as you deleted my submission without checking it, no doubt. I am in complete revulsion of the manner in which you have dealt with this.. ignoring people like me, may or may not make us go away, I don't know.. it does however, make me angry and generally frustrated over the completely horrendous discrimination and bias that you have shown me.
I am in disagreement with the management and disgraceful manner being used to run Devious, and I demand explanation for the unjust, favourtist actions I have witnessed. Four times you have snubbed me. At least four. I want to know why you do not stand by your "rules" when you say "No excessive ads" ..as my site has none, and you still rejected it instantly.. that is what you've done, isn't it? Noticed the URL of the site was located at a free server and deleted the submission on sight of it? Am I not correct in stating this?
I respect the fact that you have final judgment, and, although I will recognize this, I still feel that you haven't been totally fair and have, in fact, treated me as a second class, leaving me out and judging my site harder than any others because of its location. I regret to say this, but it is how you have made me feel.
I want to know why, once and for all, you, Devious, do not permit free sites into your listing.. why you judge free sites harder than any others and have ignored me thrice before now. And you may ignore this comment in itself, of course, but you cannot ignore the fact that many of the things I have stated are fully truthful from my point of view and that my encounters with Devious have been negative only, at your fault.
I will post this email, live, on my website, for my visitors to view within a week, unless, you have a VALID reason, that is, for being a discriminating, rude, ignorant, biased, prejudice, favouring, arrogant person. I am sorry to be brief, harsh and blunt, but in fear of being ignored a fifth time, I will proceed to these lengths to be heard and to receive an answer, which I well deserve after being treated with such an extreme lack of hospitality and general respect.
Sincerely,
Selene.
