Eric Myers is the Quantum ranger. He is a loner, and refuses to be associated with the other rangers. Actually, he works for Mr. Collins leading the Silver Guardians and protecting people for money.
Years ago, Eric attended a posh private school with Wes, who did his best to be his friend. They both excelled in karate, training together, and were sparring partners. Finally, fed up with being shunned by everyone else for not coming from a wealthy background, Eric drops out of school, leaving Wes.
Eric lives a lonely life with no friends or family but two birds. He is distant and cold, believing that friends are only there to be able to betray you one day. However, later on in the series, he makes friends with a little girl who, I guess, is one of his neighbors. He ends up giving her his birds to take care off when he plans on leaving Silver Hills, for reasons unknown.
He is very ambitious. Shown by the fact that he is not content with merely being a soldier amongst Mr. Collins' Silver Guardians. He wants to be there leader. Granted, the only reason Collins made him leader was because he was the Quantum Ranger and had control of the Q-Rex, however, Eric possess many skills and qualities that make him admirable for his position. For one thing, when he was sent back in time with Wes, despite the fact that there is a bit of rivalry between the two, Eric brings Wes back to the present. He had the perfect chance to leave the red ranger there, and claim it wasn't his fault since Wes jumped aboard his TF Eagle uninvited.
In the beginning, Eric and the other rangers didn't get along very well. Wes did his best to become Eric's "friend" again, but was turned down at every turn. However, when push comes to shove, Eric knows what he has to do, which in his words says, "I'm here to bail you guys out again." When requested by Jen to keep their secret of being from the future a secret from Mr. Collins and everyone else, he reluctantly agrees in the end. As the series draws to a close, he draws closer to the rangers. In the last episode, we have the pleasure of seeing him fight side-by-side with Wes not just because they have to, but because they're friends.
Eric Myers is played by Daniel Southworth. Before moving to LA from Northern California, he studied martial arts for 15 years and received his black belt. Before college, he received many state and national titles in various competitions before retiring. During college, Daniel became hooked on gymnastics, continuing to train as a preferred means of exercise with Mike Washlake, a veteran gymnastic coach and well known stuntman. Daniel's success at combining martial arts with acrobatic skills has awarded him the opportunities to work with Jackie Chan and Samo Hung. He continues to train regularly with Andy Cheng, one of Jackie Chan's top fight choreographers.
As an actor, Daniel has applied the intense dedication and discipline acquired from the martial arts and prefers a routine exercise of his craft. Although he loves the action genre, he is dedicated to attaining strong and exciting roles in other genres as well.
Even though Power Rangers Time Force is his first television starring role, Daniel has appeared in the following : Martial Law, V.I.P., Looking for Bruce, and Burning Kingdom. He is also starring in the HBO world premier "U.S. S.E.A.L.'s II" directed by Mr. Andy Cheng.
