Kai Chen is the blue galaxy ranger in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. He was one of the five chosen ones along with Mike, Kendrix, Maya, and Damon. Kai is the trainer for the new recruits on Terra Venture and is a hard working fellow. He always does more than he's suppose to in order to impress his superiors.
Kai was left behind when the portal bringing Maya closed with his friends, Kendrix, Mike, and soon to be friend Leo in another dimension. He remembers what Commander Stanton said about not leaving a team mate behind, he talks himself into going after and helping them, he heads for the Astro megaship museum. Once there, he talks Damon, DECA, and Alpha into helping him get reach his friends.
Kai was born into a military family and brought up to respect the rules. After becoming a ranger, he breaks a few rules and learns that he must in order to save the universe from the dreaded Scorpius. Becoming a ranger helped Kai in many ways. He learned to question his superiors and stand up for himself when he knows he's right.
The worst thing that has happened to Kai was losing Kendrix during the Psycho Rangers saga. She was trying to save the pink space ranger Cassie, and lost her own life in the process. We all know Kai cared for Kendrix more than a friend. Losing her was the biggest setback for him. I think it was then he realized that being a power ranger meant a lot. All his friends realized that. However, good news! Kendrix was brought back in the last episode of PRLG.
Kai Chen is played by Archie Kao. Archie was born on December 14, 1973 in Alexandria, Virginia. He's TV appearances include "Monster", and "The Player" besides Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. Presently, he was also showcased in "The One" starring alongside Jet Li.
