Tanya Sloan became the yellow power ranger near the end of the MMPR seasons. During Aisha's Zeo quest, when Aisha decided she wanted to stay in Africa to help the sick animals, she gave her crystal to Tanya, and sent her back instead. (A very honorable thing to do in my opinion. Knowing me, I would have kept the crystal and went back. I could never give up rangering, if I was one.) But when Zeo started, we find out that there can only be five rangers. Five crystals. So Billy, boldly surrendered his spot to Tanya. Giving her a chance to find out what it was like. (Really honorable too.)
Tanya integrated into the rangerhood rather nicely. She lived with Kat's family and attended Angel Grove High along with the rest of out beloved rangers. She and Kat got along pretty well. They even wrote the school song together. What was it called? Flying With Angel Grove High? I remember the chorus! "Here we go flying with Angel Grove Hi-igh..." Don't remember the rest though. Anyone have the mp3/midi, send it my way! Anyways, she got along fine with the rest of the rangers. But my favorite thing about Tanya was that she could dance, sing, and perform really well. She was active and kind of reminded me in some ways of Aisha.
Adam and Tanya had a kind of romance going on. Even though the show didn't come right out and say it, we knew it was there. The spark always told us. ^_^ A lot of fanfic writers have put those two together. Not that I can't blame them, me being one myself.
Tanya is played by Nakia Burrise. Nakia was born in San Diego on October 21. She was raised in Stockton, California with her two brothers by their two supportive and loving parents. She has recently graduated from University of California in Los Angeles with a bachelor in Theatre Arts. She is, in my opinion, extremely religious and thanks God every day.
Nakia's been performing since the age of 4. Beginning with acrobatics, modern dance, ballet, jazz and hip-hop. She performed her first musical at around the same time and has done a lot of professional theatre. Some of the plays include, Dreamgirls, Bye-Bye Birdie, Cinderella, Godspell, Two Gentlemen of Verona (Isn't that the place where Romeo and Juliet took place? Verona?), and Grease.
Some of her television appearances include Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, and Smart Guy. Her movie debuts include Turbo: A Power Rangers Adventure, and a small part in the Disney movie Under Wraps.
