Tommy Oliver was the green ranger in Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger the Dinozord incarnation, the white ranger in the Ninja incarnation, and the red Zeo and Turbo ranger. He was promoted to leader when he received his second color, white.
Tommy was the only one who could match Jason in martial arts skills. They're both awesome! We were first introduced to him in the episode where there's a martial arts competition and Tommy was Jase's opponent. Rita took an interest in him since he was so good and all and put a spell on him that made Tommy evil. What didn't help things was that Kim had a crush on our newest ranger and she didn't know it. Poor Kim, she thought Tommy was blowing her off when they set up a kind of date when he was still himself. After a few episodes, they figure out it was Tommy and save him.
Tommy's first leave was when Rita drained his powers with the green candle. Well almost, he gave the last of it to Jason so Rita couldn't get her hands on it. He returned with Zordon's help when the other rangers were in trouble, but his powers were temporary. After Rita was kicked out by Zedd, Lord Zedd had a plan to drain his powers. Goldar got Tommy to morph and use up most his powers after evil Tommy handed the Sword of Power to him. His powers were destroyed a few episodes later by a monster Zedd created. A few episodes later, Zordon had Tommy teleported to the command center and the white ranger made his entrance.
After the Command Center was destroyed, Tommy received the red Zeo power from his piece of the Zeo crystal. They were against the Machine Empire mainly while Rita and Zedd were in the background. After Rita and Zedd destroyed the Machine Empire, the Zeo rangers shifted into Turbo and Tommy was red once again. He is nicknamed the Christmas ranger since his colors were red, white, and green. ^_^
Tommy Oliver was played by Jason David Frank. JDF was born on September 4, 1973. He has an older brother, Eric R. Frank and a wife Shawna whom he married on May 8th, 1994. He's also got two little boys, Jacob (age 6), and Hunter Sebastien (age 4). JDF's role models are Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. He is a 5th degree black belt in Karate and teaches at his own studio, the "Rising Sun Karate Academy." He use to own Jason Frank's Toso Kune Do Karate, but it's runned by his brother now.
JDF was a regular in "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers", "Power Rangers Zeo", and "Power Rangers Turbo" (duh! I think you would know that.) He has also guest starred in "Family Matters", "Sweet Valley High", "Meego", and "Richard Simmon's Dream Maker." He's been in the two PR movies and supposedly has two other movies, "Burning Desire," and "Groupies" which are unknown. He's also starred in several martial arts films both with Austin St. John and himself. Jason was also featured in the CD-rom game "Piper." JDF is current filming episodes of "The Privateers" as a regular. Check out pics of him, he cut his hair!
