Subject: Is it a pyramid?
Some very interesting numbers.
1000 people give $20.00 a week for one year.
20x52x1000=1040000
that is more than ONE MILLION DOLLORS to the one collecting.
Success is in the numbers, but as you and everyone says
the "system".
One of the most prevalent problems in any business is
repeat customers.
The "system " solves
this problem for the one doing the collecting.
Who is doing the collecting. Well I still see the same
names I saw
twenty years ago when I was
in it. (Yager, Britt, and gang) I still can see Amway
as an excellent
money making "system" for
me, but.....
I would rather not use people in that fashion.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
than for a
rich man to go to heaven. I
can see why? Why can't those in the "system" see beyond
their own
egotistical minds, or better
yet, their pocketbook.
Keep up the page! Maybe just maybe, people will see what
the truth
really is.

Subject: Excuse me?
Your web posting said that by quiting Amway, one would
immediately get
more time with their
family....
Would you then explain to me, please, how it is that
my sponsor was able
to bring his wife home
from work to raise their 2-year-old son full-time at
the 4000 PV level?
Can you also explain while you're at it how his sponsor,
our ruby
direct, was able to retire both
himself and his wife? She was a registered nurse and
he a retail
manager. Now they are full-
time parents except for the 20-30 hours a week they put
into our
businesses.
They traded 80 hours a week (2 full-time jobs) for 20-30
in Amway. My
sponsor is right on their
tail, and I'm right on his. I'm at 2500 PV and will pocket
$800-$900.
I'm not spending anywhere
near that much in my business.
But now I'm confused becaused you say it doesn't work.
I'm sorry you couldn't cut it. Didn't you listen to your
upline or the
tapes when they said some
people just don't have what it takes to build this business?
That's the
truth and I know you heard
it on a tape. Accept it and move on to something else.
Leave the rest of
us alone to succeed in
what we have chosen (oh, excuse me, been brainwashed)
to do.

Subject: WWDB
Dear Kelly: Just found your page on WWDB and you have
hit the nail on
the head!!! I have read
a lot of other concerns about "the business" but they
spoke mainly to
the Britt/Yeager group in
the east although the complaints were pretty similar
to what you and I
and others have
experienced. Yours was the first to catch my eye concerning
Ron Puryer,
et al and WWDB per
se. I found Amway to be like backpacking 100 miles in
the Sierra with a
60lb pack. It feels so
good when you quit! I was in for about 1.5 years before
"waking up". By
that time I had lost
about $2,500.00. When I attempted a refund for tapes,
I was informed
that they had to be in the
plastic wrapping......sorry. As I had listened to most
of them, I was
SOL. It is too late for me now
(180 day rule), but keep putting the word out to help
others. I did get
a nasty phone call from my
upline Ruby, and he never once said "I love you" during
the course of
our conversation......I fired
off a letter to him saying many of the things you have
mentioned and
have not heard a peep out
of him since. I did receive another call from another
Ruby who I really
do respect and he was
considerate enough to listen to my concerns and wish
me well. He was
disapproving of the first
Ruby's tactics and even intimated that his business was
not doing well
and that he was running
scared. I appreciated his honesty; there are a few genuine
folks in the
business with some sense
of ethical behavior. I am just now recovering and feeling
human again
and regaining some
strained friendships, but I was made to feel so low and
meaningles and I
am 52 years old with a
Masters Degree. My life has not been the waste they would
have you
believe. Ron and Georga
Lee seem to be nice people and maybe they are for real,
I don't presume
to judge anyone except
my former Diamond Jimmy Head who is a real pompous jerk
who could not
lead flys to fresh dog
doo doo (sorry 'bout that, but it is the truth, and as
we all know, the
truth will set you free..). I
really and truly wanted to believe that it could all
happen as they say.
When I finally realized that
it was not going to be, the feeling of emptiness and,
yes, even despair
was almost overwheling. I
just thank God that I came to my senses when I did as
we could not
afford the "system" much
longer. My wife is a business woman and was never involved
with me in
amway. Bless her
heart, she supported me as much as possible buying Artistry
cosmetices,
etc. but she feared
deep down that I was setting myself up for a major emotional
let-down
and she was correct. She
has never once mentioned the money I lost or said "I
told you so" and I
love her all the more for
that. Well, I did not intend to write my life story in
Amway to you, but
you have helped me a great
deal just allowing me to vent my feelings and know that
I am not the
only one as I once thought.
I too have considered writing to Rich and Jay, but I
think it will just
be stonewalled as was yours.
I realized a while back that I had actually gone two
or three days
without thinking about Amway
and just enjoying the things I used to before being made
to feel guilty
about them. Hope you are
recovering also and thanks again for your sucinct description
of life in
WWDB. I don't have to go
to Phoenix for Family Reunion this July!!!!! Yea!!! I
just made $500
bucks....Take care and god
Bless, ***
p.s. Pleaaaase give me a short reply if you have the
time if for no
other reason than to let me
know I really am not alone. Thanks

Subject: I agree with you!
Amway talks about free enterprise. It seems to me that
they have kind of
turned it on it's head.
When you really look at it. Look at all their rules and
regulations and
tell me if it's free enterprise.
They tell you that your're going to start a business
, well that's not a
total lie you are starting a
business, theirs!!! And not yours, no advertising, no
marketing support.
It's obvious to me that
the whole thing is just built around some bs MLM pyramid
type thing.
You're going to start a
business and really wind up becoming the customer instead.
That's free
enterprise turned on it's
head . and I think it sucks!
Distributor or Customer, whatever the hell I am.

Hi there!
Just came across your page via "Amway: The Untold Story".
Loved every
word of it. It is
amazing that I have been out of amway for a year but
I still can't get
enough of reading all this
information. For some reason I have a dep resentment
if not "hatred"
towards the larger pin up-
line for deceiving me.
Do you and your husband feel the same way as well? If
you have learned
to go beyond that how
did you do it?
If I don't hear back from you that will be OK. I wish
you much sucess
and peace now that you
have gotton out of Amway!!!

Subject: AMWAY experience...How True You Are
Hello,
I just read your page on the AMWAY business. You are
so true! My wife
and I have experience the same lies and financial hardships
you
describe. We are still paying off our credit cards for
the past 'Major
Functions' we were coerced into attending. I find it
interesting to
note that our upline always told us how they loved us,
and now that we
are no longer distributors, they won't have anything
to do with us.
Thanks for spreading the truth. I do believe that network
marketing
works if it is with a truthful and moral company with
honest
distributors (hard to find). I have found one that seems
to be made up
primarily of ex-AMWAY people like myself. So far everything
is going
fine (they actually show each other real checks too).
I do, however,
remember my past experiences, and I question everything.
We'll see how
it goes.
Take Care,

This is a great page but I tried to print it out to warn
some people who
are planning to get into "the business" and the only
way it would print
was to print off each seperate page (print>NEXT>print>NEXT>etc.)
could
you make this a continuos document to make it easier
to print. Reply
not neccesary I'll check every once in a while to see
if it's changed so
I can get a better copy.

Ayukii,
With both hands frimly grasping the handle, you have
swung the hammer
with
full unemotional force perfectly onto the very center
of the head of the
nail. 6 years and $20,000 later, I have now recovered.
ExWWDB and happy
with it.

Kelly,
I had forgotten about the guilt free part. And where
is all this money
coming from now that we're not in Amway??? Not to mention
the time.
I'll not bother you any more. Thanks for taking the time,
effort,
proofing,
rewrites and work to put up the info on the web. Invaluable!!!

P.S. If you don't mind, who was your upline Diamond and
what is the
story
behind ayukii? You are of course under no obligation
to answer.....just
curious. My upline was Rick Marshall/Brad Duncan. Talk
about
brainwashed, I
named my now 2 year old ******. I guess it could have
been worse. I
could
have named him Wolgamott or something as bad. (ha ha)

Kelly,
Thanks for taking the time to resopnd to a total stranger.
I really now
enjoy being a quitter and a loser. I still have some
contact with those
in
the business. Fortunately all of them didn't ban us to
a leper colony.
Not
that we were the greatest of friends in the first place.
Your site has done many people a great service. If any
one is/was on the
fence about getting or staying in, you have provided
them a great source
of
knowledge, even if it only gives them ammo to ask thier
sponsor about,
or
planted that little seed of doubt.
I am sure your mailbox is always full of mail, so I'll
not add to the
clutter. I have appreciated your time and hope that you
contiune to
maintain
your site. You'll be doing more than you can imagine.
Oh and one more
thing, you can bet you upline has read or at least knows
about your
site.
It's not exactly hidden!!! I am proud of you!
