Hi Kelly,
Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, I think that would
be a good idea, I
will
start collecting the most 'original amway drivel' and
then perhaps we
can
have a vote, or perhaps better still ask an outside source,
like a well
know
newspaper or something like to help us choose to 'best'.
When you come
across some real good ones, please send me a copy of
them. Perhaps by
Christmas we can make a decision and award one with an
invitation to a
beach
where all we losers could serve him a drink and an ambot
Oscar :-))

If you go to a doctor who performed surgery on you and
you found out
that the surgery was not
necessary, you conclude that the doctor performed it
to make money or
made an honest mistake
or just didn't know what he or she was doing.
Would you then conclude that all doctors perform unnecessary
surgeries????
That concept applies to Amway distributors, too. Granted,
there are
distributors who are not
building the business correctly, why are you condemning
all
distributors? That sounds like a
form of discrimination and should not be allowed.
This world will be a nicer place to live in if people
just learn to help
one another instead of hurt
one another.

Dear Exambot:
I enjoyed tremendously the information you put on your
web site. I had
been
in Amwway/INA several years ago and was fortunate to
have gotten out
before
it was too late and I spent more money on it than I had.
In the September Responses Part 2 you published two letters
by a
"gentleman" that claimed to be 23 and had built a successful
Diamondship
in
Amway after spending five years researching 10,000 opportunities
as
well. I
attempted to write to him the following letter as he
was so open with
leaving his e-mail address and specifically telling/asking
you (see
QUOTE
below) to leave his e-mail address. How convenient -
too bad that was a
lie
too.
QUOTE
Ps. Please include my address in the posted letter. I
stand by my words
and am available for the response, good or bad, that
they bring.
END QUOTE from his post script to his last letter. I
am only responding
to
his first letter.
This letter was sent to his account and was subsequently
rejected by his
mail server - there is no wwdbdmnd@MCIONE.com in their
system. Please
note
also that I have not used an assumed name nor a cloaked
e-mail address.
I
have nothing to hide. Does he?
I would ever so love it if you would publish this letter,
in it's
entirety,
including my e-mail address so that perhaps this "gentleman"
could then
read it. I realize it has a definite Christian slant
and make no apology
for my spiritual beliefs.

Subject: Amway
How could you have ever build a diamond business after
spending first
FIVE
years of your life researching 10,000 "opportunities"
to see which one
you
should pursue and then building a Diamond distributorship?
To research
10,000 different opportunities would have required several
years and
then
to have built a diamond business in Amway would have
required at least
that
amount again. You could NOT have adequately spent the
time researching
all
10,000 businesses before the age of 23, and building
a successful
Diamond
distributorship in that same time period.
Either way it would be impossible to do what you did
without MAJOR help
from someone outside yourself at your young age. It is
a known fact that
very few people ever achieve the status of Diamond in
the Amway business
(there are far too many statistics to back this claim
and I won't bother
to
bore you with them) and I have known several diamonds
that have left
because they were unable to maintain their businesses
over a period of
years. Try it for ten years and see how well you do.
IF you ARE a
Diamond.
You are still working at the business and will have to
continue to do so
for the rest of your life to maintain the "lifestyle"
you have chosen.
Ethically or unethically you will HAVE to work the Amway
business the
rest
of your lives in order to maintain it. So is this any
different than a
JOB?
Doubt it.
"Amway is an interesting business. Compared to other
traditional
businesses, it requires very little investment in both
time and money.
This
is an important distinction. Amway should not be compared
to a job, for
it
is not one; it is not recreation, and cannot be considered
such; it is a
business, that requires effort, money and time. I spent
5 years looking
at
over 10,000 different opportunities. These ranged from
every type of
business available. I found that Amway, and specifically
World Wide was
what I was interested in pursuing. For me, it has worked
exceedingly
well.
As with anything though, different personalities and
upbringings will be
attracted to different things. This does not make one
good or bad, just
different."
Your quote above is very contradictory. You have said
it requires very
little investment in time and money and then you went
on to say that it
requires time and money. So your logic is very flawed.
It does require
both
time and money and effort - so what is the distinction
between it and a
JOB? Nothing. You are still required to put in many hours
of time and
effort as well as money to maintain it. It is like any
business - you
can
succeed - yes - but at a cost. There is ALWAYS a price
to pay.
The odds that you would have ever made it ethically are
too astounding
to
ever imagine. I don't claim to be a statistician nor
a researcher on
these
matters, but after reading your letter you claimed to
have written about
your Amway success and how ethically you ran it then
something is very
wrong. People don't make that vast a sum of money "ethically"
without
having done something to get there first (i.e. there
is a spiritual
connection to everyone's wealth in this world.)
No one is allowed to maintain a lifestyle unless they
have directly
bowed
down and worshiped the devil or have taken a stand for
the One True God.
You never mentioned God in your letter, but the fact
remains that NO ONE
will be allowed true success unless they have either
given their
allegiance
to God or the devil. PERIOD. This includes any "success"
in the Amway
business or any other business. This doesn't matter whether
you operate
on
an ethical or unethical platform. Unless you are born
again of God's
spirit
you will be serving the devil. And even THEN you could
still be serving
the
devil if you choose not to follow God and His Word. 1
Timothy 6:6-10,
"But
godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought
nothing into
this
world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And
having food and
raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will
be rich fall
into
temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful
lusts, which
drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love
of money is the
root
of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have
erred from the
faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
So...with that in mind, let God speak for Himself now:
Romans 2:4,
"...not
knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?"
We know
then
that the goodness of God leads us to repentance. What
God wants is:
Romans
10:9-10, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead,
thou
shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
I trust that your business IS based on godly principles.
You sound as
though you have taken the high ground. But then again
you never mention
the
one true God nor His son Jesus Christ in your letters.
Therefore I can
only
assume that you have made your success by falling down
and worshiping
the
devil: Matthew 4:8-10, "Again, the devil taketh him up
into an exceeding
high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the
world, and the
glory
of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I
give thee, if thou
wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto
him, Get thee
hence,
Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord
thy God, and him
only
shalt thou serve."
If the above is true then I trust you will listen to
God's Word and
confess
with your mouth the lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God rose
him
from the dead. This way, at least you will go to heaven
when it's all
over
on this earth. I realize that money is a great motivator
for someone as
young as yourself and that your lovely wife has now grown
accustomed to
a
certain income on your part. But let me reassure you
that the prosperity
of
God will far exceed anything that you could ever achieve
through the
riches
of this world. Psalms 37:16-17, "A little that a righteous
man hath is
better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of
the wicked shall
be
broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous." 3 John
1:2, "Beloved, I
wish
above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health,
even as thy
soul prospereth."
END QUOTE
God bless and best wishes on your continued success.

Thank you thank you thank you.
I was on the verge of joining World Wide DreamBuilders.
The person
trying to sign me on suggested I research it before I
join so I could
see just how great a company it was. Ironically, in my
researching I
came across your web page. Reading the section that describes
what one
should expect to hear really hit hard, as I had almost
fallen for many
of the lines (ie. "We're not really Amway, we just use
them as a
supplier" etc.). Thank you for your page, it has saved
me a lot of
money, time, and frustration.......

Coincidence? I don't think so. People are people. There's
nothing wrong
with the Amway
business. It's just like driving cars. Some people drive
their cars
properly and are very careful
not to hit other cars but other people are careless and
don't follow
rules. You still can't conclude
that all drivers are careless.
I heard that 98% of people in this country are broke
or dead by 65 years
of age and only 2% are
financially free. Based on the same logic, nobody can
conclude that all
people will be dead or
broke by age 65 even if that's the majority. There's
still that 2%
that's different.
I hope that you will be more fair and not judge Amway
distributors based
on some people's
mistakes. Nobody is perfect. The Amway business is still
the best there
is. People just need to
learn to do the business properly. Have you read the
Amway business
rules of conduct and the
business manual itself? This is a free country and it's
free enterprise,
Amway cannot
discriminate against anyone so everybody interested in
participating can
participate. Nobody
checks their honesty and integrity. Also, in spite of
all this
negativity towards the business,
nobody can argue the fact that Amway had been around
since 1959 and is
doing very well.
There are still a few people out there who wants to do
the right things
and do it right. There are
still people out there who believes in persistence.
Persistence..... anyone can start but WINNERS finish!!!!

Dear Ma'am or Sir,
Your page has been very good for me. I'd really like
to thank you for
it.
I agree with the majority of your editorial.
So what now?
As a ranking distributor I confess there are many things
I have chosen
NOT to teach
to my downline. In defense I have never held anyone back
from skipping
a meeting
or a function for even a mere headache (I have a personally
sponsored
distributor
who suffers from frequent migraines). I'd like to take
this
opportunity to explain
to you and the world how I run my Worldwide business.
I would ask that
you
post this in your responses section of your web site.
My principles:
1) if you can get it cheaper elsewhere--buy it elsewhere!
This is based on the true essence of free enterprise:
competitive
pricing. It encourages
Amway and the 2000 other companies in the Amway funnel
to stay on
top of their
pricing structures. That is as American as it gets.
2) If you have a family challenge please let me help.
The true essence of our organization is strength in numbers.
We
live in each other's
challenges and hardships just as much as we live in each
other's
triumphs. I have
been taught to love people unconditionally and I take
that very
seriously. I enjoy
this business because it allows me to turn that love
in to action.
The greatest
function is not in a stadium, but in the loving arms
of friends who
help each other
through the good and the bad. In the situation you illustrated
about the friend who
had a death in the family and went to a meeting anyway--I
can only
say that I am
ashamed. I won't tolerate that sort of behavior in my
organization.
3) We are here to help financially -- not hinder.
You are correct in regards to the great expense of the
functions,
meetings, tapes,
books, etc over the course of a year. Let me explain
how I address
this important
issue. My job when I sponsor a new person is to help
that person to
become
as profitable as possible as quickly as possible. If
that turns out
to be a greater
challenge for a person who doesn't have many people on
his/her list
of names to
sell products and services to than I will not emphasize
the purchase
of any books,
tapes, or functions. If that person chooses to go anyway
then I am
excited to help
in any way that I can. However, when the new distributor
becomes
profitable
through my helping hand then I ask (and I mean "ask"!)
the new
person to use the
'seed' money to reinvest back into himself/herself and
his/her
business. The only
expense my people incur is time. Period.
Further, when a downline distributor calls me up complaining
that
he/she cannot
get his/her new distributor to get on standing order,
pay for
functions, etc. my first
response is, "what have you done to bring that new person
to a level
of profitability?
Have you helped him/her to make enough money to do those
things that
you ask?"
In our organization we offer a 90 day program entitled
"legitimizing
your business"
that establishes the 10 customer base required by the
FTC and
generates enough
money for the distributor to pay for all -- ALL -- expenses
from the
business
and NOT the personal account, savings, kids funds, etc.
I teach my downline that if they really want someone
to be on a
tape, book, etc. then
give that person the one you have. This is a 'people
helping
people' business.
4) Wrong is wrong is wrong and I don't want any part
of 'wrong'.
The profits generated by the sales of books, tapes, functions
go to
the organization
(Worldwide Dreambuilders). These profits are used to
run the main
offices, pay
the employees, make up the difference for functions that
lose money,
pay the air-
fares for rubys, emeralds, and diamonds who fly around
the US and
the world to
speak to groups, and to subsidize hotel expenses to make
the
functions more
affordable for those just starting. None of the profits
go into the
pocket of Ron
Puryear, the founder of the organization. We are the
exception in
comparison
to other organizations who do pocket the profit. I made
the
decision over a year
ago to drop out of another organization (the six month
inactivity
rule, see the
Compendium) and rejoin with a new sponsor in the Worldwide
organization
for that reason as well as others.
The book purchase list is very helpful to distributors
who cannot
obtain the
book through normal channels. I normally take the list
to the local
bookstore
and buy the cassette version in addition to the paper
version in
order to have
some added value while commuting. I've never been taught
to only
buy from
the list--nor do I teach it. However, I have had some
trouble
finding recommended
books (a recent example is "The Personality Tree", a
really great
book that I
couldn't find for 3 weeks at my 5 local bookstores) that
I was able
to obtain
from the book order list. The price on the order list
was less
expensive than
it would have been to order from the SuperCrown bookstore.
5) Personal is personal. Business is business.
Wouldn't you HATE it if your CEO came up to you and started
lecturing you
on how to treat your husband or wife? So would I. We
keep personal
apart from business. I will certainly offer all of my
love and
support of any
distributor who needs me. I work very hard to develop
great
relationships
with my personally sponsored distributors on down to
the newest guy
downline. But I can't even imagine rudely shoving my
beliefs down
some poor soul's throat unsolicited. That isn't my role
in this
business
nor in life. I don't agree with Bill Britt half of the
time. But I
do love him
for his good intentions. I see him as a sweet old eccentric
grandfather
who want to do his best for his kids but is running a
generation
late.
Sir, Ma'am, I could go on and on. The underlying point
to all of this
material
that I'm presenting before you now is a very important
life lesson: all
it takes
for the forces of evil to rule our world is for enough
good people to do
nothing.
You have chosen to fight the injustice by using this
web site and I
commend you for it. I have chosen to fight in a very
different way. I
know
that the best method that I can use to correct the horrible
mistakes of
the
distributors in various Amway organization is not by
hitting them in the
face
like a sparring partner, but rather by lifting them up
to doing what is
right like
a good coach who really wants the best for his team.
Amway and Worldwide Dreambuilders continue to grow and
grow. Neither
you nor I can stop that. So lets get back in the fight
and fix the
abused
engine using the right tools of love and understanding.
Lets not
indulge
ourselves by kicking dents in it with steel toed boots.
From myself and all of my group, I sincerely apologize
for your
mistreatment.
I know that you will enjoy great success in or out of
Amway and I
wish you all the best. God speed.
