A.F.D. Dragon Poetry
Page 2
the neverending poem (was thunderclouds)
rae:
i can see a dragoness in the clouds
with starry, starry eyes
but the others simply cannot see her,
however hard they try.
i can hear the dragoness
as her roar rolls over my land
but the others say it is thunder,
will they *ever* understand?
Styraxian:
And so I began to search
Looking for only one;
A male, perhaps female,
old or young.
rae:
i'm carefully and closely looking for
one who might share my dreams
and my belief that nothing
is ever really as it seems.
perhaps there is no one
and i must continue my search alone
but at least i have a purpose
though i may never find a home.
i'll wander, lost and lonely,
with stardust in my eyes.
i'll live for the adventure
and each day's new surprise.
Styraxian:
And there she is
Listening to my voice,
Revive the passion of my heart
and giving reason to rejoice.
rae:
i smile for those searches, ended,
and for the lucky one i am glad.
but, always, in the closing of a dream,
there is something terribly sad.
and i rejoice in other's success
and lift my head up high.
i know that their lot is blissful happiness
and mine is the endless goodbyes.
Styraxian:
What is a goodbye that brings a tear
For we will see each other again.
Do not whisper or sigh,
For we are family and never say Goodbye.
rae:
for there are bonds that join your heart
to the ones you hold so dear.
they reassure and strengthen
and let them know you're there.
true, goodbyes are not forever
(though they may often seem that way)
but you must know that the worst goodbyes
are the ones you just don't say.
oh, and the goodbyes that are so uncertain
(will i ever see them again?)
they shake you up and cut you down,
you'll never forget the pain.
you'll *never* forget the pain..
Styraxian:
In old age we will look back
down lifes untroden paths.
In the far past we will see pain
and be greatfull for those times.
Pain helps us grow and mature
It guides us and shapes us.
Though we think we have bust,
We in fact won the jackpot.
And so We have wandered far,
or so it seems,
From dragons and beasts and things.
But it in the end, we see all the more
The true heart of a dragon is made of gold.
rae:
the pain is not always useless,
in fact, sometimes it helps.
i know that it is not the enemy
for that is only myself.
new tissues may grow again
where, once, there were aching scars
and maybe, one day, i'll laugh again
under the dying stars.
under the instruction of pain
i have wandered far and wide,
and, i tell you now, you are worthless
if your quivering light you do hide..
there are many things in a dragon's heart
and we cannot measure their price.
for them i would gamble all my jewels
on the very next roll of the dice.
there is so much more to us than merely gold
each one has their own hidden pain.
but, i still believe, we can conquer it
and let our light shine again..
Styraxian
Turn tears of pain to tears of joy
And let the heart sing again.
For the heart has its own toys,
ones that bring smiles and giggles.
Dragons hearts are more than gold,
filled with dreams I am told.
Dreams full of light and struggle
Joys and tears, and above all light and love.
rae:
love and joy make weary hearts light
and set loose the dreams once again.
they shine in the very darkest of nights
and smooth the edges of the pain.
dragon hearts are noble and pure,
they are determined and they are strong.
worth more than the richest hoard
as beautiful as the most lovely song.
Styraxian:
I will sit all night and through the day
To listen to the song the dragon heart plays.
Visions of waterfalls and exotic places,
Does the music impart in my heart.
I love to hear hearts sing,
And as a dragon I feel them more.
I pity the heart that does not,
For I feel the loss all the more.
rae:
oh, beautiful melody that dragons hearts play,
far finer than the most elegant voice.
shall we open our minds and let it dance in?
for, you know, we do have a choice.
and it is so easy to just let it float on,
lose it and wish it had stayed.
far harder is it to make real your dreams
and search for the tune their hearts played.
so lift up your head to the heaven above
and remember to open your eyes.
let words fly from your eager lips
to welcome the dragons inside.
