Troubleshooting

Bad Sound or Dropout of Sound
........................................................................................
  1. That could be network traffic overloading your ISP's server or the net itself. Sometimes you can see little red network transmission failure icons on the player when this happens.
  2. Your modem isn't fast enough. You should consider a modem of at least 28.8 for audio. 33 is better 56 is great ! ISDN would be ideal or ADSL or cable modem would be ecstasy ( we go with video !).
  3. Try backing up the slider at the top of the Real Player &trade or just playing the song over after it has finished lplaying. The player can have the lost data in memory it was just too late to play it when it got it. Try replaying it with the play button too. Network Dropout is a random event

If you have NO SOUND when you click a song link
........................................................................................

  1. Did you download the Real Player &trade ? Check your disk for a directory named RealAudio - Is there a file named RP32_50.EXE ? That is the compressed file from Real Networks, if you don't have it .... better go get it if you haven't installed it on another directory somewhere... check your disk.
  2. Did you decompress the RP32_50.exe file by double clicking it ? Gotta do that before it will work.
  3. Do you see the Real Audio &trade logo in the right hand corner of your task bar at the bottom of your screen? That will show it is correctly installed.
  4. Is the volume in Windows turned up ? Check by clicking the Start button, click Accecssories, Multimedia then Volume control.
  5. Is the volume turned off on the Real Player &trade ? There is a MUTE button and a volume button on the Real Player &trade. First click View on the player then click Normal. In the middle of the player you can see three lines. To the right of them is a small slider which is the volume and a MUTE button below it. The mute button has the International NO sign on it when in use.
