knitting basket
Sewing basket instructions at the bottom.
Materials:
Colored floss,
Paper,
Basket,
Glue, and
Dressmaker pins
Instructions: Take
some of the floss and wind it in to a small ball and secure the end with a
small drop of glue and stick two of the dressmaker pins in too it to make
knitting needles. If you want a skein cut a small piece of paper to go
around your skein you could even use a wrapper or something for it then
take a piece of floss and wrap it loosely around your pinkie when you have it as thick as you want take it off your finger and put the small piece of paper around it and glue it in place make a couple more skeins and balls and place them all in the basket along with scissors, measuring tape and maybe a little book.
The picture above is a sewing basket I made. I cut strips out of decorative ribbon 1/4 inch wide and wrapped them around covered florist wire securing with glue every couple of wraps. When finished start coiling the ribboned covered wire coiling it to form a basket.
I used cardboard and sewed on beads for buttons, and rolled balls of fabric. The spool's a thread were small dowels cut and wind thread around it and secure with glue. I colored paper yellow and made little black lines on it for the measuring tape. I then glue it all into the basket.
