On November 21, 1998, Pensacola celebrated it's 300th birthday. On November 21, 1698 Spanish troops arrived at what is now NAS Pensacola. To commemorate this event, various activities were held including a re-enactment of the Spanish coming ashore, a parade, and fireworks.
