To get to Shikinejima, you board a ferry in central Tokyo at around 10 p.m. After making a couple of stops at other islands early in the morning, you arrive at Shikinejima around 8 a.m.

Jinata Onsen is a very pretty, natural, and free bath located at the base of a ravine at the the ocean's edge. Some of the pools get too hot or cold, depending upon the tide.

Matsugashita Onsen is located next to the fishing harbor. It's water contains more iron than Jinata and is more reddish.
