Questions and Answers About God
I have found good answers for some of these questions and I am still looking for good answers to others. The reason I wrote this page here is to share the answers I have found and to seek the ones I haven't. I should let you know right from the start that I believe that everything written in the Bible was inspired by God and is true. I welcome response from both those who agree and disagree with me!
Why are so many people uncomfortable talking about God?
How do I know there even is a God?
What is Faith?
What is a real Christian?
Is Rashad Khalifa right about Jesus and the Bible?
Why are so many people uncomfortable talking about
God?
This is one of the questions that I didn't have a good answer for, but after I posted this a friend of mine suggested a couple answers. The first is that there are so many religions and so many radically diferent concepts of who God is that poeple don't want to open themselves up to all those confusing and conficting ideas. The second reason is that many people suspect that God, if he were to touch their life, would take them out of their comfort zone!
How do I know if there even is a God?
There are three things that compel me to believe that there must be a God.
Here they are:
In addition, I can not believe that men and women are merely sophisticated machines. My own passions, fears, joys, loves and yearnings must come from more than just a very powerful computer in my brain. I believe they come from my soul (or spirit.) This soul is an even more amazing thing than the tree, hand or bird I mentioned above. Who could have designed us in such a way that we are both physical and spiritual? This is what the Bible says: "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made " (Romans 1:20, New International Version)
Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to
me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." - John
