According to the Istanbul-based daily Hurriyet, a Turkish intelligence agency has confirmed rumours that the Al Qaeda leader had gone underground in the Himalayan border region where Muslim activists have been fighting Indian troops, it said.
Afghanistan's former Taliban leader, Mulla Omar, was also confirmed to be living in Afghanistan's Paktia province bordering Pakistan, according to the newspaper.
Osama was aiming to provoke a further confrontation between Pakistan and India, should he be arrested in Kashmir, the Hurriyet said.
The Turkish intelligence agency has special ties with several groups close to Osama and is said to promptly convey information to the US and Britain, the report said.

In the 1980's when he was working with the CIA, Usama bin Laden told me that Americans did not understand the Middle East. Just last week, in a little shuttle bus shouldering its way through curtains of rain across the Iowa prairies, I opened my copy of the Des Moines Register and realised that he might be right. "BIG HOG LOTS CALLED GREATER THREAT THAN BIN LADEN," announced the headline. Iowa's 15 million massive pigs, it seems, produce so much manure that the state waterways are polluted. "Large-scale hog producers are a greater threat to the United States and US democracy than Osama bin Laden and his terrorist network, says Robert F Kennedy Junior, president of... a New York environment group... 'We've watched communities and American values shattered by these bullies,' Kennedy said..." I took out my pocket calculator and did a little maths. Cedar Rapids, I reckoned, was 7,000 miles from Afghanistan. Another planet, more like.
I've been travelling to the United States for years, lecturing at Princeton or Harvard or Brown University, Rhode Island, or San Francisco, or Madison, Wisconsin. God knows why. I refuse all payment as is our policy and take just a business-class round trip from whereever I am because I can't take 14 hours of screaming babies in each direction. American college students are tough as nails and bored as cabbages, and in some cities – Washington is top of the list – I might as well talk in Amharic. If you don't use phrases like "peace process", "back on track" or "Israel under siege", there's a kind of computerised blackout on the faces of the audience. Total Disk Failure. Why should my latest bout of Americana have been any different?
Sure, there were the usual oddballs. There was the old black guy whose first "question" on the Middle East in a Chicago University lecture theatre was a long and proud announcement that he hadn't paid taxes to the IRS since 1948 – a claim so wonderful that I forbore the usual threat to close down on him. There were the World Trade Centre conspiracists who insisted that the US government had planted explosives in the twin towers. There was the silver-haired lady who wanted to know why God couldn't be made to resolve the hatred between Israelis and Palestinians. And a Native American Indian in Los Angeles who ranted on about a Jewish plot to deprive his people of their land. A bespectacled man with long white hair in a ponytail shut him up before declaring that the Israeli-Palestinian war was identical to the American-Mexican war that deprived his own people of... well, of Los Angeles. I began to calculate the distance between LA and Jenin. A galaxy perhaps.
And there were the little tell-tale stories that showed just how biased and gutless the American press has become in the face of America's Israeli lobby groups. "I wrote a report for a major paper about the Palestinian exodus of 1948," a Jewish woman told me as we drove through the smog of downtown LA. "And of course, I mentioned the massacre of Palestinians at Deir Yassin by the Stern Gang and other Jewish groups – the massacre that prompted 750,000 Arabs to flee their homes. Then I look for my story in the paper and what do I find? The word 'alleged' has been inserted before the word 'massacre'. I called the paper's ombudsman and told him the massacre at Deir Yassin was a historical fact. Can you guess his reply? He said that the editor had written the word 'alleged' before 'massacre' because that way he thought he'd avoid lots of critical letters."
By chance, this was the theme of my talks and lectures: the cowardly, idle, spineless way in which American journalists are lobotomising their stories from the Middle East, how the "occupied territories" have become "disputed territories" in their reports, how Jewish "settlements" have been transformed into Jewish "neighbourhoods", how Arab militants are "terrorists" but Israeli militants only "fanatics" or "extremists", how Ariel Sharon – the man held "personally responsible" by Israel's own commissioner's inquiry for the 1982 Sabra and Chatila massacre of 1,700 Palestinians – could be described in a report in The New York Times as having the instincts of "a warrior". How the execution of surviving Palestinian fighters was so often called "mopping up". How civilians killed by Israeli soldiers were always "caught in the crossfire". I demanded to know of my audiences – and I expected the usual American indignation when I did – how US citizens could accept the infantile "dead or alive", "with us or against us", axis-of-evil policies of their President.
And for the first time in more than two decades of lecturing in the United States, I was shocked. Not by the passivity of Americans – the all-accepting, patriotic notion that the President knows best – nor by the dangerous self-absorption of the United States since 11 September and the constant, all-consuming fear of criticising Israel. What shocked me was the extraordinary new American refusal to go along with the official line, the growing, angry awareness among Americans that they were being lied to and deceived. At some of my talks, 60 per cent of the audiences were over 40. In some cases, perhaps 80 per cent were Americans with no ethnic or religious roots in the Middle East – "American Americans", as I cruelly referred to them on one occasion, "white Americans", as a Palestinian student called them more truculently. For the first time, it wasn't my lectures they objected to, but the lectures they received from their President and the lectures they read in their press about Israel's "war on terror" and the need always, uncritically, to support everything that America's little Middle Eastern ally says and does.
There was, for example, the crinkly-faced, ex-naval officer who approached me after a talk at a United Methodist church in the San Diego suburb of Encinitas. "Sir, I was an officer on the aircraft carrier John F Kennedy during the 1973 Middle East war," he began. (I checked him out later and he was, as my host remarked, "for real".) "We were stationed off Gibraltar and our job was to refuel the fighter jets we were sending to Israel after their air force was shot to bits by the Arabs. Our planes would land with their USAF and Marine markings partly stripped off and the Star of David already painted on the side. Does anyone know why we gave all those planes to the Israelis just like that? When I see on television our planes and our tanks used to attack Palestinians, I can understand why people hate Americans."
In the United States, I'm used to lecturing in half-empty lecture halls. Three years ago, I managed to fill a Washington auditorium seating 600 with just 32 Americans. But in Chicago and Iowa and Los Angeles this month, they came in their hundreds – almost 900 at one venue at the University of Southern California – and they sat in the aisles and corridors and outside the doors. It wasn't because Lord Fisk was in town. Maybe the title of my talk – "September 11: ask who did it, but for heaven's sake don't ask why" – was provocative. But for the most part they came, as the question-and-answer sessions quickly revealed, because they were tired of being suckered by the television news networks and the right-wing punditocracy.
Never before have I been asked by Americans: "How can we make our press report the Middle East fairly?" or – much more disturbingly – "How can we make our government reflect our views?" The questions are a trap, of course. Brits have been shoving advice at the United States ever since we lost the War of Independence, and I wasn't going to join their number. But the fact that these questions could be asked – usually by middle-aged Americans with no family origins in the Middle East – suggested a profound change in a hitherto docile population.
Towards the end of each talk, I apologised for the remarks I was about to make. I told audiences that the world did not change on 11 September, that the Lebanese and Palestinians had lost 17,500 dead during Israel's 1982 invasion – more than five times the death toll of the international crimes against humanity of 11 September – but the world did not change 20 yearsago. There were no candles lit then, no memorial services. And each time I said this, there was a nodding of heads – grey-haired and balding as well as young – across the room. The smallest irreverent joke about President Bush was often met with hoots of laughter. I asked one of my hosts why this happened, why the audience accepted this from a Briton. "Because we don't think Bush won the election," she replied.
Of course, it's easy to be fooled. The first local radio shows illustrated all too well how the Middle East discourse is handled in America. When Gayane Torosyan opened WSUI/KSUI for questions in Iowa City, a caller named "Michael" – a leader of the local Jewish community, I later learnt, though he did not say this on air – insisted that after the Camp David talks in 2000, Yasser Arafat had turned to "terrorism" despite being offered a Palestinian state with a capital in Jerusalem and 96 per cent of the West Bank and Gaza. Slowly and deliberately, I had to deconstruct this nonsense. Jerusalem was to have remained the "eternal and unified capital of Israel", according to Camp David. Arafat would only have got what Madeleine Albright called "a sort of sovereignty" over the Haram al-Sharif mosque area and some Arab streets, while the Palestinian parliament would have been below the city's eastern walls at Abu Dis. With the vastly extended and illegal Jerusalem municipality boundaries deep into the West Bank, Jewish settlements like Maale Adumim were not up for negotiation; nor were several other settlements. Nor was the 10-mile Israeli military buffer zone around the West Bank, nor the settlers' roads, which would razor through the Palestinian "state". Arafat was offered about 46 per cent of the 22 per cent of Palestine that was left. I could imagine the audience of WSUI/KSUI falling slowly from their seats in boredom.
Yet back at my folksy, wooden-walled hotel, the proprietor and his wife – P Force volunteers in the Kennedy era – had listened to every word. "We know what is going on," he said. "I was a naval officer in the Gulf back in the Sixties and we only had few ships there then. In those days, the Shah of Iran was our policeman. Now we've got all those ships in there and our soldiers in the Arab countries and we seem to dominate the place." Osama bin Laden, I said to myself, couldn't put it better.
How odd, I reflected, that American newspapers can scarcely say even this. The Daily Iowan – there are no fewer than four dailies in Iowa City, press freedom being represented by the number of newspapers rather than their depth of coverage – had none of my hotel landlord's forthrightness. "The situation in the Middle East is one that many Americans do not adequately understand," it miserably lamented, "nor can they be reasonably articulate about it." This rubbish – that Americans were too dumb to comprehend the Middle East bloodbath and should therefore keep their mouths shut – was a pervasive theme in editorials. Even more instructive were the reports of my own lectures.
The headline, "Fisk: Who really are the terrorists?" in the Daily Iowan last week at least caught the gist of my message, and included my own examples of American press bias in the Middle East, although it failed on the facts, wrongly reporting that it was the United Nations (rather than the far more persuasive Israeli Kahan Commission) which concluded that Sharon was "personally responsible" for the Sabra and Chatila massacre. The Des Moines Register's account of one of my talks was intriguing. It concentrated on my interviews with Osama bin Laden – which I had indeed mentioned in my lecture – and then referred to my account of how an Afghan crowd beat me up last December. I had told the American audience that the Afghans were outraged by US bombing raids that had just killed their relatives around Kandahar and how important it had been to include this fact in my own report of the fray – to give context and reason to the Afghan attack on me. The Register used my words to describe the attack but then itself made no mention of the reasons. Long live, I thought, the Iowa City Press-Citizen, whose own headline – "Middle East reporter slams media" – got the point.
It's not that Iowans have any excuse to be unaware of the Middle East. In the small town of Davenport, Israelis have been trained in the systems of the Apache AH-64 attack helicopters used to assassinate Palestinians on Israel's wanted list. According to one local journalist, several Iowa companies, including the regional office of Rockwell, have been involved in military contracts worth millions of dollars with Israel. CemenTech of Indianola supplies equipment to the Israeli air force. The day I arrived in Iowa City, John Ashcroft, the US Attorney General, was telling Iowans that a hundred foreign nationals "from countries known as home to terrorists" had been interrogated in the state. Another hundred were likely to be "interviewed" soon. There was no editorial comment on this.
So Iowa University classes were absorbing. One young woman began by announcing that she knew the American media were biased. When I asked why, she said that "it has to do with America's support for Israel..." and then, red-faced, she dried up. Not so the student in Rex Honey's global studies class. After I had outlined the military trap into which the Americans had been lured in Afghanistan – the supposed "victory" followed by further engagements with al-Qa'ida and then, inevitably, daily battles with Afghan warlords and sniping attacks on Western troops – he put his hand up. "So how do we beat them?" he asked. There was a gentle ripple of laughter through the room. "Why do you want to 'beat' the Afghans," I asked? "Why not help them build a new land?" The student came up to me afterwards, hand outstretched. "I want to thank you, sir, for all you told us," he said. I had a suspicion he was a military man. Are you planning to join the army, I asked? "No, sir," he replied. "I'm going to join the Marines."
I advised him to stay clear of Afghanistan. In its own way, the American national press was doing the same. Two days later, the Los Angeles Times, in a remarkable dispatch from its correspondent David Zucchino, reported on the bitterness and anger among Afghans whose families had been killed in United States B-52 bomber raids. The recent American battle in Gardez, the report said, had left "bitterness in its wake".
If only the same bluntness was applied to the Palestinian-Israeli war. Alas, no. On the freeway past Long Beach on Friday, I opened the LA Times to be told that Israel "mops up [sic] in the West Bank", while the syndicated columnist Mona Charen was telling readers in other papers that "98 per cent of Palestinians have not been living under occupation since Israel pulled out under the Oslo accords" and that the Israeli Prime Minister at the time, Ehud Barak, had offered Arafat "97 per cent of the West Bank and Gaza". This was 1 per cent higher even than the statistic from "Michael" on WSUI/KSUI radio. Arafat – "this murderer with the deaths of thousands of Jews and Arabs on his hands" – was to blame. The issue between Israel and her neighbours, Charen contended, "is not occupation, it is not settlements and it certainly is not Israeli brutality and aggression. It is the Arabs' inability to live peacefully with others".
Maybe California is organically different from the rest of the United States, but its journalists as well as its students seemed a tad smarter than the Midwest of America. The Orange County Register, a traditionally conservative newspaper in an area that is now 50 per cent Latino, has been trying to tell the truth about the Middle East and was carrying a tough feature by Holger Jensen, which warned that if President Bush didn't rein in Sharon, the Israeli Prime Minister "will succeed where Osama bin Laden failed: forcing us into a war of civilisations against 1.2 billion Muslims". When I lunched with senior editorial staff, they invited three members of the Orange County Muslim community to join them.
Cocktails with friends of the Methodist church revealed a sane grasp of the Middle East – one of them was deeply disturbed by a recent remark by Israel's Internal Security Minister, Uzi Landau, who had said that "we're not facing human beings, but rather beasts". A black guest commended the UN secretary general Kofi Annan's criticism of Israel. Yet when I flipped on Fox News, there was Benjamin Netanyahu out-Sharoning Sharon, declaring that Palestinian suicide bombers would soon be prowling America's streets, meeting Congressmen to enlist their help in Israel's "war on terror", even while the US Secretary of State, Colin Powell, was in Israel.
"Why Israel's Mission Must Continue," the New York Times's comment page shouted on Friday. A long and tedious article on Israel's crusade against "terror" by an Israeli army colonel, Nitsan Alon, included several of my favourite cop-out phrases, including the stock reference to "a large number of civilians" who were – yes – "caught in the crossfire".
By the time I was addressing the more bohemian denizens of an art club in Los Angeles, the newspapers I was attacking were beginning to turn up. Mark Kellner arrived to report for The Washington Times. "He's going to stitch up everything you say," a friend remarked. "The Washington Times is to the right of the Republican Party." We shall see.
But if my audiences had been largely made up of Americans without any Middle East roots, the same could not be said of Sunday's cocktails at the home of Stanley Sheinbaum, the philanthropist, art collector and libertarian – we shall forget the period in which he helped to run the Los Angeles Police Department – where my little speech was to set off some verbal hand-grenades. Sheinbaum it was who met Syria's President Hafez el-Assad at President Jimmy Carter's request, arranging Assad's extraordinary summit with Carter in Geneva. "Tell me something good about yourself," he said to me. Have you heard nothing good from anyone else, I enquired? "Nope," he said.
But I liked Sheinbaum, a crusty, humorous man in his eighties who encourages every liberal Jewish American to have his say about the Middle East. As the lunchtime fog embraced the rose gardens and villas and swimming pools and hills of Brentwood, up stepped Rabbi Haim dov Beliak to explain how he intends to close down the bingo and gambling operations of one of America's greatest Jewish settlement builders. "Call me when you get back to Beirut – by all means write about it." As we scoffed Stanley Sheinbaum's strawberries and sipped his fine Californian red wine, another rabbi approached. "You're gonna have some hostile people in your audience," he said. "Just let 'em hear the truth."
So I did. I talked about the cowardice of Secretary Powell, who dawdled his way around the Mediterranean to give Sharon time to finish destroying the Jenin refugee camp. I talked about the rotting bodies of Jenin and the growing evidence that back in 1982 Sharon's troops handed the survivors of the Sabra and Chatila massacre back to their Phalangist tormentors to be killed. I said that Arafat was never offered 96 per cent of the West Bank at Camp David. I advised the 100 or so people in the room to read the Israeli journalist Amira Haas' courageous reports in Haaretz. I talked about the squalor of the Palestinian camp. I talked of suicide bombings as "evil" but suggested that Israel would never have security until it abided by UN Security Council Resolution 252; that Israel would never have peace until it abandoned all of the West Bank, Gaza, Golan and East Jerusalem.
"I find it very difficult to ask you a question, because what you said made me so angry," a woman began afterwards. Why did I not realise that the Palestinians wanted to destroy all of Israel, that the right-of-return would destroy the state? For an hour I explained the reality I saw in the Middle East; an all-powerful Israel fighting an old-time colonial war. I talked about the 1954-62 Algerian war, its brutality and cruelty, the French army's torture and killings, the Algerians' slaughter of civilians, the frightening parallels with the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. I talked about the Palestinians who wanted, at the least, an admission of the injustice their people had suffered in 1948, adding that there were Palestinians aplenty who realised that financial compensation would have to suffice for most of those refugees whose homes were in what is now Israel. I talked about Sharon and his bloody record in Lebanon. And about the pressures of the Israeli lobby in America, the fear of being labelled an anti-Semite, and the feeble reporting of the Middle East.
A rabbi was the first to tell me afterwards that the Palestinians were victims, that they should be given a real state. An old lady asked me for the name of the best book on the Algerian war. I gave it to her; Alastair Horne's A Savage War of Peace . A card was pushed into my hand. "Insightful talk!" the owner had written at the bottom and – hate though I do the word "insightful" – I couldn't help noticing that the name on the card was Yigal Arens, the son of one of Israel's most ruthless right-wing ministers, who had once informed me – in Beirut, back in 1982 – that Israel would "fight forever" against Palestinian terror.
On the freeway to LAX afterwards, the terminals and control tower looming through the Californian haze, I looked over Saturday's LA Times. A report on page 12 revealed that the BBC's award-winning film on Sharon's involvement in the Sabra and Chatila massacres had been dropped from a Canadian film festival after protests from Jewish groups. The organisers had explained that The Accused "could invite unwanted attention from interest groups" – whatever that means. But a paragraph at the end of the report caught my attention. "Sharon, who was the Israeli defence minister at the time, allegedly facilitated the assault on the Sabra and Chatila refugee camps..." There it was again. Allegedly? How many angry letters was that little lie supposed to avoid? Allegedly indeed.
But on reflection, I didn't think the Americans I met would be fooled by this. I didn't think my hotel proprietor would accept "allegedly". Nor the old naval officer from the John F Kennedy. Nor the listeners to KSUI. Nor even Stanley Sheinbaum. Yes, Osama bin Laden told me he thought Americans didn't understand the Middle East. Maybe he was right then. But not any more.

Clinton Protected Terrorist Charity from FBI Shutdown
Five years ago the FBI wanted to shut down a Muslim charity that had been identiifed as a terrorist front group, but was stopped by the Clinton administration.
In December 2001, federal agents seized the assets of The Holy Land Foundation, which bills itself as the nation's largest Muslim charity, after announcing it had been caught funneling funds to the notorious Palestinaian terrorist group Hamas.
But, according to U.S. News & World Report's "Washington Whispers":
"FBI veterans tell our David E. Kaplan that they were ready to move on the group back in 1997 but were stopped by top officials at Justice and the Clinton White House."
"They didn't want to come off as Muslim bashers," a source close to the investigation told the magazine.
Unnoted by U.S. News, then-first lady Hillary Clinton also feted Muslim supporters of Hamas at the White House.
Her Senate campaign repeatedly raised money from groups with ties to Mideast terrorists - sometimes in secret - and disguised one contribution from the American Muslim Council as a donation from the "American Museum Council" in a Federal Election Commission filing.

What is a declaration of war against terrorism, apart from a rhetorical device? "Whatever the technical and legal issues about a declaration of war," the Prime Minister said yesterday, "the fact is that we are at war with terrorism." Never mind the technical and legal issues, there is the plain meaning of words. It is only meaningful to declare war on a state or a military power; anything else is metaphor.
You cannot declare war on a tactic; it is as if President Roosevelt responded to the attack on Pearl Harbor by declaring war on bombing. It does not even make much sense to declare war on terrorists. When President Bush solemnly announces that the United States is on a war footing and calls up the reservists, he does not seriously intend to mobilise resources against Eta, the Tamil Tigers or the Real IRA. Irish terrorism is an illuminating case: when it comes to harbouring terrorists, the pre-Clinton US record of tolerating IRA fundraising and refusing to extradite IRA suspects does not bear close scrutiny.
We cannot even be sure that Osama bin Laden was behind the 11 September attacks. The US – and Britain – is thus at war with only a "prime suspect".
This is a war which, like the war against drugs, debases the language. There may yet be a real war, of course. If the US and its allies commit forces to fighting in Afghanistan there will, of course, be casualties on the Nato side, unlike the war in Kosovo or, in significant numbers, the Gulf war. That could lead the West into a war like Vietnam, but we are, we hope, a long way from that yet.
We are being purist, possibly even pedantic. President Bush needs to respond rhetorically to the grief, anger and frustration of American opinion. Thus the geniuses of the presentational arts give us Operation Noble Eagle, while the intelligence agencies get on with the essentially rather passive job of working out who was behind the atrocities and the military planners with that of working out how to reach them. It is possible that by talking tough and acting cautiously George Bush is pursuing a sensible, pragmatic strategy. Meanwhile, Tony Blair is pursuing a similar approach: he has attracted attention in the US for his "shoulder to shoulder" stance of unqualified support, thus ensuring that, when in private he advises restraint, he will be taken seriously.
There are dangers in the over-use of the language of war, however. It raises the expectation of an early, overwhelming and probably indiscriminate military response. If that does not happen, public opinion in America may prove harder to mobilise when it comes to the resolve and expense needed to follow through on what President Bush has accepted will be a long and difficult process.
A secondary danger is that the rhetoric of war will be used to justify intolerance. Although the lives of US or British service personnel are not yet at stake, there is already an assumption, which would be wrong even if they were at risk, that questioning the policy of national leaders is collaborating with terrorists. This is particularly strong in the US, which has a long tradition of non-partisan support for the presidency at times of crisis. But it is happening here too, as it did in the Falklands and Gulf wars. Any suggestion that aggressive military action against suspects in Afghanistan might be counter-productive (because it could recruit a new generation of suicide terrorists), is treated in some quarters as "left-wing bias".
Greg Dyke, the director general of the BBC, was wrong to apologise for last week's edition of Question Time, in which members of the studio audience said that the US ought to try to understand why it was so hated by some Muslims. It is vitally important, if this is indeed a war between civilisation and fanaticism, as President Bush and Mr Blair have said, that it is fought in the name of civilised values.
Most people will accept some restrictions on civil liberties for the sake of protection against terrorism – luggage and personal searches, for example. The arguments about identity cards and DNA records, meanwhile, are mostly those of practicality and effectiveness rather than principle. What they should never accept, however, except in cases of incitement to violence, are restrictions on the right of free expression. Mr Blair, to his credit, recalled Parliament precisely so that there could be an open debate, and told CNN that, "if people want to be anti-British or anti-American, we're democrats, we believe that people have the right to express their views".
He also accepted that all he was offering the US at this stage was words of support. "That is the easy part. The hard part starts when you actually take the action." Let us hope that the weekend's inflated language has not prejudiced the sustained work needed to make the world safer from terrorists when the hard decisions do need to be taken.
PARIS, Feb 7: French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine on Wednesday openly criticized "simplistic" US foreign policy as signs of dissent grew in the ranks of the global coalition against terrorism.
Two days after the United States unveiled plans for the biggest increase in military spending since the Cold War, Vedrine warned that the interests of the world were under threat from US unilateralism.
It was the strongest sign of dissent so far from a senior US coalition ally since President George W. Bush labelled Iran, Iraq and North Korea an "axis of evil" during his State of the Union speech last week.
"Today we are threatened by a simplism that reduces all the problems of the world to the struggle against terrorism and is not properly thought through," Vedrine told France Inter radio.
The United States, he said, acted "unilaterally, without consulting others, taking decisions based on its own view of the world and its own interests ... refusing any multilateral negotiation that could limit their decision-making, sovereignty and freedom of action."
Vedrine also criticized what has become known as the Bush doctrine - the subordination of all foreign policy to the needs of the "war against terrorism" - and of unilateralism in general.

"The kingdom does not favour a US military operation against Iraq," the source said, adding that Washington "has not broached with Saudi officials the possibility of carrying out a strike against Iraq."
The use of Saudi Arabia's Prince Sultan Air Base and other military facilities is seen as essential for the success of any US campaign against Iraq.
US Secretary of State Colin Powell on Tuesday said Bush's choice of words to describe the three states was "deserving", but that the United States was not about to invade any of them.
In Iran, South African Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma also expressed anxiety about the direction of US policy, saying the United States was not the only country determined to wipe out terrorism.
She said on the final day of her three-day trip that "operations must be carried out under the United Nations leadership".

Reports in the Indian press say the two sides are putting the finishing touches to a comprehensive deal involving the purchase of a decommissioned "Russian aircraft carrier, squadrons of naval jet fighters, precision missiles and other weapons."
That particular deal has been under discussion for a long time but has been held up by concerns about funding and the need for extensive refurbishment of the aircraft carrier.
Perhaps even more important for India than whatever hardware it acquires, is the diplomatic, economic and military edge provided by renewed close ties with Moscow.
Support on extremism
Visiting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov on Thursday offered strong support for India in its current dispute with Pakistan.
He called on Islamabad to do more to stamp out Islamic extremism, particularly among groups fighting the Indian security forces in Indian-administered Kashmir.
The need is for a negotiated and lasting regional peace agreement that allows the two countries to develop beyond 50-year-old hostilities.
As well as defence and diplomacy, the visiting Russian delegation has been looking at ways to broaden the trade relationship with India and has promised to improve the flow of goods and services between the two countries.
Indian analysts are particularly pleased the Russian visit is taking place as military ties are being redefined with the United States in the wake of the 11 September attacks in America.
Senior American commanders have been holding talks with their Indian counterparts about how to work closely together against terrorism and other threats.
The contrast with the years of the Cold War - when India annoyed Washington with its close links to Moscow - could not be more stark.
Pakistan's efforts
Yet it is also clear that Pakistan is making defence deals and diplomatic efforts of its own, so the Indian successes of the past week have to be seen in this context.

British Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon has been visiting Pakistan this week, selling "British-made arms".
And a team from Turkey - a country particularly close to General Pervez Musharraf - has been showcasing "Turkish defence material."
Similarly, Pakistan has its traditional diplomatic allies in the Gulf and elsewhere that would offer it the same robust support that Russia does to India.
The diplomatic edge in the current stand off between South Asia's two largest countries probably goes to India on points.
But that does not diminish the need for a negotiated and lasting regional peace agreement that allows the two countries to develop beyond 50-year-old hostilities and the continuing risk of nuclear war.
This is a dispute demanding a settlement, not a victory or a defeat. You will note that Russia is preparing and backing India for a major war. England and the USA are backing and preparing Pakistan.

Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned the US that it would regret any action it launched upon his country. His speech, punctuated by cries of "Death to America" from an audience of air force chiefs, represents the latest salvo in the war of words between the US and Iran.
It is not only the Iranian people who hate you, but the whole world. And We are prepared to fight you on any terms. Iran also has cells and weapons of mass destruction within the borders of North America. You can be very sure of that!

Tehran and Washington have exchanged insults and threats since US President George W Bush described Iran, Iraq and North Korea as an "axis of evil" in his State of the Union address on 29 January.
US Secretary of State Colin Powell appeared to adopt a more conciliatory tone earlier this week and said talks were possible with those three countries.
Yet on Wednesday CIA director George Tenet said Iran remained "a serious concern because of its across-the-board pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and missile capabilities".
Iran appears to have remained angered by the comments of US leaders.
Ayatollah Khamenei criticised other Islamic states for lack of action.
Ayatollah Khamenei said on Thursday: "If anyone tries to attack this people and threaten their interests, the reply of the people of Iran will be keen, and the aggressors will regret their action.
"The Iranian people and the whole population, as well as the various branches of the armed forces, must attain unity, be vigilant and be totally prepared to reply to any attack."
The ayatollah, who last week denounced America as the "Great Satan", told Washington: "It is not only the Iranian people who hate you, but the whole world, as an oppressive regime, arrogant, misusing its strength and hypocritical.
Domination
"The Iranian people detest a regime which interferes, wants domination, waves the flag of democracy, freedom and human rights but defends the Israeli regime, which is totally opposed to human rights, and in Afghanistan treats inhumanely prisoners from other nations."
Ayatollah Khamenei also criticised other Islamic states, saying that "because of their lethargy and the fact that they are not united", they are threatened with a "crusade".

1. Iraq: Suspected of wanting to pursue programmes to develop nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons and missile developments.
2. Iran: Listed by US as state sponsor of terrorism. Washington says Tehran plans to develop weapons of mass destruction.
3. North Korea: The US's main concern has been missiles and other weapons programmes and willingness to export sensitive technology.
Iranian President Mohammad Khatami and other officials have also condemned Mr Bush but it appears that there are differences between the reformist-minded government and the spiritual leader.
The official Islamic Republic News Agency reported that Iran was considering whether to expelformer Afghan warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and was discussing the matter with Afghanistan's interim government.
"Iran is not a place for any individual or group to make mischievous acts or any other action," the agency quoted Interior Minister Abdolvahed Mousavi Lari as saying when asked if Mr Hekmatyar's continued presence in Iran would create tension with the new Afghanistan administration.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Ahani says Iran has suggested to European Union countries that they create "a joint cell" to fight terrorism.
He told the Spanish El Pais newspaper that Iran was "willing to co-operate with the international community to fight terrorism" but he insisted the campaign should be "under the aegis of the United Nations, not the United States".

Conclusion:
What, therefore can we say concerning the Qur'an? Is it the Word of God? Muslims contend that we can only understand the origins of the Qur'an through the eyes of Muslim Tradition, which tells us that Allah revealed his truth through the Qur'an which was sent down to Muhammad. We, however, suspect the authenticity for this claim, as the primary sources for the later traditions simply do not exist prior to the eighth century. In fact the Muslim sources which we do possess are of a relatively later date, compiled between 200-300 years after the fact, and are dependant on oral traditions passed down by storytellers whose narratives not only cannot be corroborated, but suddenly seem to proliferate towards the end of the eighth century.
Wansbrough takes the position that the Qur'an was compiled even later than the traditions, and was used as an authoritative stamp to authenticate later beliefs and laws by those who were responsible for canonizing the Muslim Traditions. If he is correct, then one would wonder whether Muhammad would even recognize the Qur'an which we possess today.
Nonetheless, the Qur'an itself has been suggested as a source for Islam, and its own best authority. Yet it too suffers from many of the same problems mentioned above. When we open the Qur'an and read it we are faced immediately with many structural and literary difficulties which bode ill for a document claiming to be the final and perfect Word of God. We are presented with spurious "Biblical accounts" which parallel known second century heretical Talmudic and Christian Apocryphal documents. And while we wonder how these very human documents found their way into a supposedly non-human scripture, we are introduced to scientific peculiarities which have also found their way into its pages. These difficulties do seem to point away from a divine authorship and point towards a more plausible explanation; that the Qur'an is simply a collection of disparate sources borrowed from surrounding pieces of literature, folk tales, and oral traditions present during the seventh and eighth centuries, and accidently grafted in by unsuspecting later compilers of the Abbasid period.
Non-Muslim sources which we possess from a variety of surrounding societies also corroborate the evidence above. Much of what we find in these external seventh and eighth century sources contradict what the Muslim Tradition and the Qur'an tell us, causing us to suspect the latter's authenticity.
In the end we are left with little on which to hold. Muslim sources are found to be questionable, while non-Muslim sources point to a dearth of any real evidence for the accurateness of the Qur'an. There is indeed, much disturbing material here with which the Muslim apologist must now contend. Yet, I do find solace in the fact that the next time I see a Muslim holding his Qur'an aloft as evidence of Allah's blueprint for humanity, I can ask him one simple question, the same question historians are now asking, "Where, indeed is the evidence for that which they believe?"

for us had different dispensations such

Christ to this earth, but His divine plan

Man has always wanted a king, or someone in power
that they could see. God allowed them Saul, and
others, but as we see through history man is not
capable of governing his people fairly. Then God
sent Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Who is our King and
will reign forever over us after this earth age. He
came in the flesh and man had someone he could
see and touch. Since the crucifixion man has had
access to our Father, through Yahshua. Our Father
didn'l change, but allowed us the proof of His grace
through the precious blood of our Saviour. Anyone
who chooses not to approach God through His Son
Jesus, may not come to Him.
My point is that God put many things in motion
thousands of years before our Saviour came to this
earth and as Christ said, He didn'l change one pur-
pose or plan of His Father. He in fact fulfilled what
God promised and reinforced the rest of His Father's
prophecy and plan. (He removed the need for animal
sacrifice, but this also was a fulfillment of prophecy).
I want to discuss why God scattered His children
through the generations. It could have been because
He was so angry with them for worshipping every-
thing but their own Father. Or like the time He
scattered them for their own protection allowing them
to be taken captive by a bigger prosperous nation.
Each time they emerged from captivity far richer and
larger than they were before.
What about the majority of the ten tribes during
the Assyrian captivity? Some will say the majority
were never heard from again. It just depends on
whether you know who you arc looking for or not.
There is overwhelming historical proof (not to mention
the fulfillment cf God's prophecy) that those tribes
migrated over the Caucasus Mountains, later being
called Caucasians. They went through Spain and into
Eastern Europe settling later into America. Frankly,
this is why I bring to you the documentaries we work
so hard on. If you look for the footprints, you find
that they were there all the time. That's why it's
really no mystery to see a stone found just north of
the Rio Grande, with the complete ten command-
ments on it in ancient Hebrew.
Is it a mystery that God's hand moved them into
the blessing that He promised their father, Jacob?
God told Rebecca before their birth that she bore
two nations of which the elder would serve the younger.
Are they two little countries that fight over a piecs
of land? Hardly! It's easy enough to see
the blessing this great nation has re-
ceived as opposed to another great nation
that must be fed (again and again) by
grain from America else it would starve.
God scatters His people for their
protection and as seed, to take root and spread His
Word. When they formed the government of this
country it caused the greatest Christian nation of all
time to be formed. If you don't believe it just read
our Constitution or check the coins in your pocket
and see if they still say "In God we trust." As the
leaven (yeast) spreads throughout many loaves, so
does one of God's seeds bring about growth wher-
ever it is planted. This ministry alone, from one little
spot, is able to spread across and teach all of this
hemisphere at one time.
Let's go back in history and try to understand
God's feelings when He scattered Israel after bring-
ing them out of their Egyptian captivity. God was
present with them in every possible way. He rolled
back the waters of the Red Sea. He shone a pillar
of light to lead their way. He dropped quail and
manna from the sky to feed them. But, it wasn't
enough because while God was giving Moses the law
for these people to live by, they were busy worship-
ping images created by their own hand. 1 think a king
would have probably destroyed the whole bunch, but
God has infinite mercy and His anger didn't bring
about their destruction. Instead, He made a covenant
(a promise) with His chi'drcn. Let's cover it in
Deuteronomy.

As it was then, so it is again. A likeness of "any
thing", whether it be wealth, power, a system, even
a church, if it is aside from God and His Word. If
you put something else before God, you anger Him.

God was furious with them and He made a promise

directly from the worship of "Ishtar." Its traditions
of Easter egg hunts and bunny rabbits come to us
from the grove worshippers written of in the Bible.
It's not hard to research and find out for yourself
that the "egg rolling" was a fertility rite, or to put
it in plain English, a great big sexual orgy they had
in order to produce offspring calling on the help of
the goddess Ishtar. Have you never heard the saying
"quick like a bunny?" Are these little traditions of
man cute? Is it any wonder what God thinks about
it?
Now what could be worse than allowing that
heathenism into your place of worship? Well, how
about if we take the gicat day of Passover, of which
Christ became the ultimate Passover Lamb, the Sacrifice
of all time. and tie the two observances together?
Christians don't have any idea how much love
their Father feels for them. Because, through His
love comes the grace that we are given through
Christ Jesus. Otherwise, I think God would make an
end to it all.
DEUTERONOMY 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek
the Lord thy God, thou shall find Him, if thou seek Him
with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Even after this insult God breaks His salvation
down to each individual.
DEUTERONOMY 4:30-31 When thou art in tribulation,
and all these things are come upon thee, even in the
latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt
be obedient unto His voice: "{For the Lord thy God is
a merciful God; He will not forsake thee, neither de-
stroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which
He sware unto them.)
This covenant is from umbilical cord to umbilical
cord. It is a contract that cannot be broken. He
never said there wouldn't be tribulation, but He did.
say 'hat if you seek after Him with all your heart
He would always be there tor you. as an individual.
What more could you ask for? He even sent His Son
cis an emissary to further strengthen the bond for
each individual's personal walk with Him.
I want to turn to a little later in history when
God spoke directly of His people settling a land that
we know to be "America."
ISAIAH 18:1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings,
which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
Could this be "eagle's" wings? Or how about the
land from which the very first airplane came.
ISAIAH 18:2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea even
in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, 'Go,
ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled,
to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a
nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the
rivers have spoiled.
You should do a study on the "scattered and peeled"
people.
ISAIAH 18:3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers
on the earth, see ye, when He lifteth up an ensign on the
mountains; and when He bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
I have seen an ensign lifted in power in this nation
that blows the trumpet to most of the nations of the
world. It is known as the United Nations.
ISAIAH 18:4 For so the Lord said unto me, "I will take My
rest, and I will consider in My dwelling place like a clear
heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of
harvest.'
As our Father rests before His harvest, He can send
a wind (spirit) that can dry and burn on His children
or a refreshing sustaining dew from the water of life
to nurture and protect them. This is left completely up
to the individual, you can make it hard, or you can
make it easy. He has given you the authority and the
power, through the name of Jesus Christ, to remove any
obstacle from our path. As long as it is His path you
walk on.
ISAIAH 18:5-6 For afore the harvest, when the bud is
perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he
shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take
away and cut down the branches. "They shall be left to-
gether unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts
of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and
all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
A good pruning removes the dead branches, and all
the sucker branches that pull nutrition from the fruit.
It provides for a much better harvest.
ISAIAH 18:7 In that time shall the present be brought unto
the Lord of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and
from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a
nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the
rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the Lord
of hosts, the mount Zion."
Beloved, this study is to show you that in all things
God has a purpose. It is no accident that this nation
came to power with all His blessings as it has. It is
no mystery that His children, that would be called by
their new name "Christian," were dispersed here. It is
no secret that Christ is returning as the King of kings
and Lord of lords to claim through the coming harvest
the fruit which is His. In Matthew, Chapter 12, Jesus
is answering the Pharisees who have accused Him of
casting out devils by the power of Satan. He tells them
that if Satan cast out his own devils he would be dividing
his kingdom and a divided kingdom will not stand.
God's scatli ed people are not divided, they are His
loved ones -that are planted exactly where He wants
them. For Christ Himself said...
MATTHEW 12:30 He that is not with Me is against Me: and
he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.
You are either with Him or against Him. Wherever
there are "fields sewn with seed" there is a harvest that
will take place. When the trumpet sounds it calls out
a people who are under the covenant God made with
them. It's up to each and every individual. So, count
your blessings and do your best because God is aware
of each and every righteous act and He counts it worthy.
There is a project called "Blue Beam" (see enclosed photocopied information from 'Contact' newspaper dated September 3, 1996, entitled Nasa the Blue Beam Project). Holographic images (created via computers and satellites), are apparently to be flashed across the sky. The religious figure would differ depending where in the world it is seen and by whom. "ELF, VLF, LF waves, the accompanying sounds will be perceived as coming from everywhere."
It involves two things. A technologically simulated "second coming" and the reemmrgence of new "MONTAUK" type projects that have the ability to take up a whole bunch of people as in a "rapture" type of situation and whisk the whole bunch into never-never land. Ironically, portions of the holographic projections have the potential for changing the planet into oneness with God. Unfortunately, this operates on the premise that Man shall somehow become God in human form and control other Men and dictate all actions and thoughts.
The calculated resistance to the new religion, the New World Order and the new "Messiah" will entail human loss on a massive scale in the ensuing "holy wars".The "BLUE BEAM PROJECT" will pretend to be the universal fulfillment of the prophecies of old; as major an event as that which took place 2000 years ago. In principle, it will make use of the sky as a holographic projection screen for space-based laser-generating satellites (star wars). These projectors will project simultaneous images to the four corners of the planet, in every language by region. It deals with the religious aspect of the NEW WORLD ORDER.
The "system" has already been tested. Holographic projections of the "CHRIST IMAGE" have already been seen in some remote desert areas. These have only been reported in tabloid papers, so they are instantly rendered moot. They can also project images of alien craft, aliens, monsters, angels - you name it. Computers will coordinate the satellites and software will run the show-and-tell.
Hollography is based on very nearly identical signals combining to produce and image, or hologram, with depth perception. This is equally applicable to acoustic (ELF,VLF,LF) waves as it is to optical phenomena. Specifically, the "show" will consist of laser projections of multiple holographic images to different parts of the planet, each receiving different images according to the predominating regional religious faith. Not a single area will be excluded. With computer animation and sound effects appearing to come from the depths of space, astonished followers of the various creeds will witness their own returned Messiah in spectacularly convincing lifelike realness.
The various images of Christ, Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna, etc., will merge into ONE after "correct explanation" of the mysteries, prophecies and revelations are disclosed. This "ONE GOD" will in fact function as the "Anti-Christ", who will "explain" that the various scriptures "have been misunderstood"- that the religious of old are responsible for turning brother against brother, nation against nation - that the religions of the world must be abolished to make way for the GOLDEN AGE (NEW AGE) of the One World Religion, representing the One God they see before them. Naturally, this superbly staged, full-scale production will result in social and religious disorder on a massive scale. Wonder what the television transmitters of religious networks will be doing on that day ? But before all this, they have to go through four different steps in order to get to Project Blue Beam.
1: The first step concerns the breakdown of all archaological knowledge. It deals with staging earthquakes at certain precise locations around the planet where supposed new "discoveries" will finally explain (for them) that the meanings of the basic doctrines of all the world`s major religions are "wrong." This falsification will be used to make the population believe that all religious doctrine has been misunderstood and misinterpreted. The falsification started with the film 2001: A Space Odessy, the TV-series STAR TREK, the STAR WARS films, E.T., all of which deal with space "invasion" and "protection". JURASSIC PARK, was to push the theory of evolution. 2: The second step deals with the gigantic space show: 3D optical holograms and sounds, laser projections of multiple holographic images in different parts of the world, each receiving a different image, according to its predetermined original national religious faith. This new "god" image will talk in all languages. As an exemple, the Soviets have manufactured the advanced computers and have programmed them with the minute psychological particles based upon their studies of the anatomy and biology of the human body, as well as their studies on the anatomy, chemistry and electricity of the humain brain. These computers have also been fed with the different languages of the world.
3: The third step deals with telepathic electronic two-way communication, where ELF(Extra Low Frequency), VLF (Very Low Frequency), and LF (Low Frequency) waves will reach the people of the earth through the insides of their brains, making each person believe that his own God is speaking to him from within his owm soul. Such rays, from satellite, are fed from the memory of computers that store much data about the human being and his languages. These rays will then interlace and interweave with the natural thinking processes to form what we call the ARTIFICIAL TALK.
4: The fourth step involves universal supernatural manifestations using electronic means. This step contains three different orientations: The first one is to make mankind believe that an alien invasion is about to occur upon every major city on the earth. This is to push each major nation into using its nuclear capability to strike back. In this manner, it would put each of these nations in a state of full disarmament before the United Nations after the false attack.
The second is to make the "christian" believe that a major rapture is occurring, with a simple "played" divine imtervention of an alleged "good" alien force coming to save the good people from a brutal satanic attack. Its goal is to get rid of all significant opposition to the NEW WORLD ORDER.
The third orientation is a mixture of electronic and supernatural forces. The waves (frequencies) used at that time will allow supernatural forces to travel through fiber optics cable, coaxial cable,electric and telephone lines in order to penetrate all electronic equipment and appliances that will by then all have a special microship installed.
The goal of this step deals with the materialization of satanic ghosts, spectres, and poltergeists all across the globe in order to push all populations to the edge of a wave of suicide, killing and permanent psychological disorder.
After that night of the THOUSAND STARS, HUMANITY IS BELIEVED TO BE READY FOR THEM TO ENTER IN A "NEW MESSIAH" TO REESTABLISH PEACE EVERYWHERE AT ANY COST, EVEN AT THE COST OF FREEDOM...............
Alien invasion.
Looking at the above, one needs to ask why? The Elite, whom it would seem have an agenda towards world control surely would not be spending all this time and energy on something without a reason. I do feel strongly that the Elite are working at creating fear in the populace towards aliens. One only has to look at the increased amount of films etc. about them, often frightening aliens. You may have noticed films about alien invasions. To explain to the populace that we are under threat of an alien invasion, could well be a way to bring the world more easily together under a New World Order.
Alien abductions
If aliens have indeed been cloned (and I believe this can include their natural telepathic abilities as well) it is quite possible that abductees are meeting these cloned aliens with man-made craft and/or receiving a powerful hypnotic suggestion. As regards the implants that abductees have had implanted - it is well known that the Elite are working on 'microchipping' to find missing children etc. Perhaps this is just a step or two up from that? Also, there is so much going on in the scientific field which is kept secret from the populace. I have read, and this makes sense to me, that higher, and Godly, intelligences never abduct against an individual's will, there is always a prior agreement at soul level, sometimes before coming into this life. This would be for some work or mission to be accomplished. Whilst the Elite's agenda may be subtle with some impressive techniques and equipment, it is far from Godly - as power and control is it's hidden agenda.
Ascension/Ascended Masters
As you know, there is a good deal of channelled information, purported to be coming from Ascended Masters. From what I have noticed - and is so often the case nowadays, it looks like some good teachings/information is being intermingled with some disinformation. I particularly include the New Age movement. As regards the Ascension idea, from what I have read (from The Crystal Stair) it looks as though there is to be an ascension of the '144,000' and the three (different) waves, i.e. 3rd to 4th, 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th dimensions. Quoting from The Crystal Stair by Eric Klein (p.56): ".....144,000 is mentioned [in the Keys of Enoch] as being a general estimate of the number of Starseeds or ascended beings who are here at this time.". And on p.40: Beginning with a question: 'Is the ascension process the same as what is described in the Bible as 'People will be taken up into the air,' especially as described by the Christians that mis-interpret the Bible about speaking in toughns which the Greek translation means another language, therefor an interpreter was needed. (The Penticostal movement) began the teaching in the early to mid 1800's. A doctrine of man?'. Sananda: 'Yes, the event that they are speaking of in Revelation is the last wave or the final evacuation process. The way it appears to occur to the innocent bystander is that the person next to you on the bus has just disappeared. And so it says that two people will be sitting together and one will be taken and the other will not. So this is more in reference to the final evacuation. It is the same process that you will undergo. You will be lifted'." (This works conveniently with the Elite's 'Blue Beam' project, as discussed below).
To quote from a Phoenix journal entitled: Ascension or Never Ever Land: "....how does one just ascend? Ascension itself means becoming lighter in weight and frequency as to allow for passage through the density of Earth into higher and less-dense atmosphere or space. This means reaching the point and frequency of "at the least" invisibility through disbursement OR the frequency of illumination (light) or faster than a speeding bullet and only slightly slower than the speed of thought." Again, quoting from the same journal (p.98) "...surprising as it may be to the bunches of 'channels' who tout good old Ashtar as a dashing whiffer-awayer - he will only be involved if the world is set to totally disintegrate and disperse souled energy. Ashtar is 'a command' - a computer centre connection - which comes into play only if final evacuation has to be accomplished." You may have heard evangelists speak of the 'Rapture'. Apparently this is where God just comes to the clouds and we all just float up there, with Christ, on the clouds. (By the way, "clouds" properly translated from Greek is "a large gathering of people")
The word rapture is not mentioned in the bible anywhere. A tradition of man.

"It was first the awful state of the land that was pressed upon me.(1) I saw the blindness and infatuation of the people to be very great. I felt the cry of Liberty just to be the hiss of the serpent, to drown them in perdition. It was just `no God.' I repeated the words, Now there is distress of nations, with perplexity, the seas and the waves roaring, men's hearts failing them for fear - now look out for the sign of the Son of man. Here I was made to stop and cry out, 0 it is not known what the sign of the Son of man is; the people of God think they are waiting, but they know not what it is. I felt this needed to be revealed, and that there was great darkness and error about it; but suddenly what it was burst upon me with a glorious light I saw it was just the Lord himself descending from Heaven with a shout, just the glorified man. even Jesus; but that all must, as Stephen was, be filled with the Holy Ghost, that they might look up, and see the brightness of the Father's glory. I saw the error to be, that men think that it will be something seen by the natural eye; but 'tis spiritual discernment that is needed, the eye of God in his people. Many passages were revealed, in a light in which I had not before seen them. I repeated, `Now is the kingdom of Heaven like unto ten virgins, who went forth to meet the Bridegroom, five wise and five foolish; they that were foolish took their lamps, but took no oil with them; but they that were wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.' 'But be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is; and be not drunk with wine wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit.' This was the oil the wise virgins took in their vessels - this is the light to be kept burning - the light of God - that we may discern that which cometh not with observation to the natural eye. Only those who have the light of God within them will see the sign of his appearance. No need to follow them who say, see here, or see there, for his day shall be a s the lightning to those in whom the living Christ is. 'Tis Christ in us that will lift us up - he is the light - 'tis only those that are alive in him that will be caught up to meet him in the air. I saw that we must be in the Spirit, that we might see spiritual things. John was in the Spirit, when he saw a throne set in Heaven. - But I saw that the glory o f the ministration of the Spirit had not been known. I repeated frequent ly, but the spiritual temple must and shall be reared, and the fulness o f Christ be poured into his body, and then shall we be caught up to meet him. Oh none will be counted worthy of this calling but his body, which is the church, and which must be a candlestick all of gold. I often said, Oh the glorious inbreaking of God which is now about to burst on this earth; Oh the glorious temple which is now about to be reared, the bride adorned for her husband; and Oh what a holy, holy bride she must be, to be prepared for such a glorious bridegroom. I said, Now shall the people of God have to do with realities - now shall the glorious mystery of God in our nature be known- now shall it be known what it is for man to be glorified. I felt that the revelation of Jesus Christ had yet to be opened up - it is not knowledge about God that it contains, but it is an entering into God - I saw that there was a glorious breaking in of God to be. I feIt as Elijah surrounded with chariots of fire. I saw as it we re, the spiritual temple reared, and the Head Stone brought forth with shoutings of grace, grace, unto it. It was a glorious light above the brightness of the sun, that shone round about me. I felt that those who were filled with the spirit could see spiritual things, and feel walking in the midst of them, while those who had not the Spirit could see nothing - so that two shall be in one bed, the one taken and the other left, be cause the one has the light of God within while the other cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven. I saw the people of God in an awfully dangerous situation, surrounded by nets and entanglements, about to be tried, and many about to be deceived and fall. Now will THE WICKED be revealed, with all power and signs and lying wonders, so that if it were possible the very elect will be deceived. - This is the fiery trial which is to try us. - It will be for the purging and purifying of the real members of the bo dy of Jesus; but Oh it will be a fiery trial. Every soul will be shaken to the very center. The enemy will try to shake in every thing we have believed - But the trial of real faith will be found to honour and praise and glory. Nothing but what is of God will stand. The stony-ground hearers will be made manifest - the love of many will wax cold I frequently said that night, and often since, now shall the awful sight of a false Christ be seen on this earth. and nothing but the living Christ in us can detect this awful attempt of the enemy to deceive - or it is with all deceivableness of unrighteousness he will work - he will have a counter part for every part of God's truth and an imitation for every work of the Spirit. The Spirit must and will be poured out on the church, that she may be purified and filled with God - and just in proportion as the Spirit of God works, so will he when our Lord anoints men with power, so will he. This is particularly the nature of the trial, through which those are to pass who will be counted worthy to stand before the Son of man. There will be outward trial too, but it is principally temptation. It is brought on by the outpouring of the Spirit, and will just increase in proportion as the Spirit is poured out. The trial of the Church is from Anti christ. It is by being filled with the Spirit that we shall be kept. I frequently said, Oh be filled with the Spirit - have the light of God in you, that you may detect satan - be full of eyes within - be clay in the hands of the potter - submit to be filled, filled with God This will build the temple. It is not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord. This will fit us to enter into the marriage supper of the lamb . I saw It to be the will of God that all should be filled. But what hindered the real life of God from being received by his people, was their turning from Jesus. who is the way to the Father. They were not entering in by the door. For he is faithful who hath said, by me if any man enter in he shall find pasture. They were passing the cross, through which e very drop of the Spirit of God flows to us. All power that comes not through the blood of Christ is not of God. When I say, they are looking from the cross, I feel that there is much in it - they turn from the blood of the Lamb, by which we overcome, and in which our robes are washed and made white. There are low views of God's holiness, and ceasing to condemn sin in the flesh, and a looking from him who humbled himself, and made himself of no reputation. Oh! it is needed, much needed at present, a leading back to the cross, I saw that night, and often since, that there will be an outpouring of the Spirit on the body, such as has not been, a baptism of fire, that all the dross may be put away. Oh there must and will be such an indwelling of the living God as has not been - the servants of God sealed in their foreheads - great conformity to Jesus - his holy holy image seen in his people just the bride made comely, by his comeliness put upon her. This is what we are at present made to pray much for, that speedily we may all be made ready to meet our Lord in the air - and it will be. Jesus wants his bride. His desire is toward us. He that shall come, will come, and will not tarry. Amen and Amen. Even so come Lord Jesus." Now you have the truth about the "rapture plot."
A close examination of these texts, and especially the context in which
they are found, reveals the very opposite. It reveals the truth, not of a
secret, silent catching away, but an event which will be attended by every
angel in heaven and be heard and seen by every human being on earth! Let me
explain further.
'Why bother,' is their comment, 'if we are not
going to be here when those awful events happen.' 'The prophecy of
the Revelation doesn't concern us,' they say, 'We'll not be
here, we'll be in heaven!'
Oh what a tragic mistake these millions are making! How devastating will
be their surprise to find themselves still here - and unprepared - when the tribulation starts.
When it begins, many will incorrectly conclude that Bible prophecy
cannot be trusted. That it is pure fable and unworthy of further attention. They will
then give up their faith in God and return to the world. And that is exactly
what Satan wants. He wants the church to be totally unprepared for the
Time of Trouble and to lose its faith in the Almighty and His word.
The 'secret rapture' theory is but one of his many attempts to cause
believers to ignore Yahweh's Word. Beware!

1. Introduction
Many Christians speak about a 'secret rapture.' What do they mean when
they use this term? Do you know? According to the Oxford Dictionary
the word rapture means 'intense delight.' The secret rapture,
we are informed by these believers, will indeed be an experience of 'intense
delight.' But that is not all that is meant when they talk of the 'secret
rapture.' When they use this term they mean the following:
Does the Bible teach this? Or are these Christians sadly mistaken? It is
important to find out and to find out soon: for, as you can imagine, if the
secret rapture theory is true, then you'll not be congratulating yourself
when you discover that you have missed the most important event in
human history and face seven years of unprecedented trouble - which you
could have avoided. The aim of this article is to present the Bible teaching
on this vital subject. Study it carefully.
2. Misunderstood Scriptures
To begin with we discover that the word 'rapture' does not
appear in all the Bible, neither in the old nor the new testament.
This means that we are unable to quote a single verse containing the
word rapture, let alone the phrase secret rapture. I repeat,
the word rapture does not appear in all the Bible. How, then,
has the theory of the secret rapture developed? What Bible verses have
these believers used to arrive at such an astonishing conclusion, that
thousands (perhaps even millions) of true believers are - at any
moment - liable to be secretly caught away to heaven; leaving the rest
of humanity to go through the trials listed in the book of Revelation?
Since the early 1950s, when I first became a Christian, I have read
many articles about the secret rapture. I have even seen 'sample
newspapers,' the kind that would supposedly appear the morning after
the 'rapture,' telling of:
How has this amazing teaching of a secret rapture developed? In my
experience the most popular texts used to support the rapture theory are as
follows.
Luke 17:31:
In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32: Remember Lot's wife.
33: Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34: I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35: Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36: Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
1 Thessalonians 4:16:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Believe it or not, these are the main texts used to support the theory of the
secret rapture! There may be others: but these are the main ones. Now take
a close look at these texts and ask yourself this question: Do they really
support the secret rapture theory? Or has there been a serious
misunderstanding somewhere along the line. No Bible student will deny
that the above texts prove that a 'catching away' of believers will
take place. But will that catching away be silent and secret? And will it
occur seven years before the Saviour returns to earth?
3. The Saviour's Return
To begin with let me repeat: no one is doubting that true believers will be
'caught up' by the angels of God to meet the Saviour on his return to
earth. (I prefer the phrase 'caught up' rather than that
misused word 'rapture'). The word 'rapture' doesn't even appear in the Bible. So the first question we must address is:
will this 'catching away' at the Master's return be secret and silent?
The next question is: will this 'catching away' occur some seven years
before the end of this age - before the Saviour's return? The answers
to these two questions become obvious in the scriptures below.
The catching away of the saints is no secret. It will be witnessed by all the world!
Matthew 24:26:
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27: For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28: For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29: Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Revelation 19:11:
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12: His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13: And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14: And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15: And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16: And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17: And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18: That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19: And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
20: And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
The Catching Away of the Saints will not be silent.
It will be accompanied by the voice of the arch-angel and the Trumpet of God. These will be heard by all the world. At this time there will also be a resurrection of millions of bygone believers. These saints, the angelic host and the Lord himself will all be visible to every eye. There is nothing silent, secret or hidden about these amazing events.
Matthew 24:31:
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first ...
1 Corinthians 15:51:
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
John 5:25
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Revelation 11:15:
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
16: And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
17: Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
18: And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
The Saviour returns at the End of this Age, not seven years before the end.
Jesus Christ returns to earth at the end of this age, after the
disasters and trials mentioned in Revelation; not seven years before
the end. He returns at the last of the seven trumpets. It is called
the Last Trump! This means he returns after the tribulation,
after a third of earth's population is slain and after the seven last
plagues. Note the apostles' question concerning the timing of the
Master's return. They knew that his return would coincide with the end
of the world! That is, at the end of this age - not seven years before the end.
Matthew 24:3
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came
unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what
shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4. What Does This Mean?
It means that blissfully expecting to be caught away to heaven before the
events detailed in Revelation occur is courting disaster. Why is it courting
disaster? The answer is: because the Revelation was given to the church to
warn and prepare the true believer of terrifying end-time events called the The Time of Trouble in Daniel's prophecy. The Revelation was not given for only the Jews; who hardly ever read the book. It was given to the Christian churches - all of them. Note its opening
admonition about reading and taking to heart the warnings therein:
Revelation 1:3
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of
this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
If Christians fail to study and heed the warnings of Revelation, they will
find themselves totally unprepared for the critical decisions and trials
ahead. They will lose their faith in God. They will walk blindfolded into sin
and risk losing eternal life! Yes, that is how serious this matter is. Satan
desperately wants the church to be unprepared for the final events that are
scheduled to occur prior to the Saviour's return. He doesn't want them to
identify the Beast and the deadly
Mark of the Beast. So he has put out this
dangerous theory about a secret rapture: a theory which is lulling
Christians into a tragic state of ignorance and a false sense of security. As
a result millions of genuine believers are patiently waiting to be secretly
raptured away to heaven before the terrible Time of Trouble begins.
That is why they do not study the book of Revelation.
5. The Coming Exodus
Is there any protection for the church of the Almighty in the days ahead,
when the troubles described in the book of Revelation overtake mankind? I
am happy to report that there is. Yahweh the Almighty God of Abraham,
Isaac and Israel is a Being of matchless love and mercy. He has an
emergency plan already set to rescue His people. A plan every bit as
stunning and miraculous as when He rescued Israel from the hand of Pharaoh
in the days of Moses. That plan is scheduled to take place during the 6th
Trumpet (the 2nd Woe) when a third of the human race is perishing all
around. Let me quote one prophecy concerning His plan.
Revelation 12:1:
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3: And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4: And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5: And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6: And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7: And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8: And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9: And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10: And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12: Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13: And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14: And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15: And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16: And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17: And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
In this prophecy the woman is Yahweh's church - Israel! The man child is Yeshua
the Messiah (Jesus Christ). The dragon is Satan the Devil and the
wilderness is on earth - not in heaven. During the 6th Trumpet ... the 2nd
Woe, when the Devil realises that his time is short, the woman will be
taken into her place in the 'wilderness' for a period of 1260 days, which is
3.5 years. There she will be miraculously fed and protected out of the reach
of the Devil and his angels. This prophecy is further explained in the SBS article The Coming Exodus.
Summary
Satan's aim when formulating error is to cause the human race to lose
faith in God and to turn to sin. SBS aims to expose Satan's errors. The secret rapture theory is one such error.
