Ares is the god of war. He is the son of Zeus and Hera. All of the gods dislike him and his destructive ways. All except his sister Eris and his lover Aphrodite.
Ares' bird is the vulture, a bird that follows legions in war to feed off the carcasses. His animal is the dog. Eris stands screaming beside him in his chariot during war. He is also known to be a coward. In the War with the Titans, he was shut into a barrel by a few on the Titans and Hercules or Hermes had to let him out. I'm pretty sure it was Hercules passing by on the way to complete one of his labors.
