The Danaïdes

The Dainaids were the fifty daughters of Danaus. Danaus' twin brother, Aegyptus, had fifty sons. Danaus was forced to flee Egypt where he was king, to Argos. When the fifty sons went to Argos, Danaus was forced to consent to their marriage with his daughters. He commanded his daughters on their wedding night to slay their husbands. All except one, Hypermestra, obeyed. She spared Lynceus. Some stories say that he then killed Danaus and his daughters.

When they decended to the Underworld they had to fill a water vessal that had holes in it.
