Hera was the queen of the gods. Sister and wife of Zeus. She is the goddess of marrige and the peacock is her bird. Iris, the goddess of the rainbow is her attendant and messenger. She is also a jealous goddess and very crafty. When Zeus is untruthful to his marrige vows she usually takes her revenge on the poor girls that Zeus consorts with.
She tried once, unsuccessufully, to give Zeus a taste of his own medicine. She put a male mannequin in a chariot and went driving around with him. Zeus saw and knew what she was doing and laughed at her.
