No matter what name you use, there is one God in the universe. In the Koran it says, "He is the Living God, the Living One. No God is there but He." In Buddhism, we read, "The Supreme Being, the Unsurpassed, the Perceiver of All Things, the Lord of All, the Maker, the Fashioner, the Father of All Beings." The Talmud states: "Our God is a Living God. His power fills the universe. He formed thee. With his Spirit thou breathest." The Bible says, "'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,' says the Lord, 'who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.'" (Rev. 1:8) "...one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." (Eph. 4:6) God does not belong to any particular religion. God is one -- God cannot become two. One Presence, One Power means there are not two powers; there is not a power for good and a power for evil. There is only one kind of electricity. You can use electricity to electrocute yourself or to brighten a room. It's how you apply electricity that matters. It's how you perceive God that matters. The choice is in your hands. ~ Mary Manin MorrisseyThis is how I believe. Now don't get me wrong, I am not a robot programmed to believe everything I am taught. I feel that the Rev. has only put in to words what I was unsure of how to say. I have a really hard time understanding how some religions feel that they are the only one's going to Heaven. All though, I have asked Jesus in to my heart and believe that he died for my sins, I am a believer in other religions and believe that being being Christian insures my entrance to Heaven. I believe, like the name God, that Heaven also goes by other names, like in other religions. I consider myself to be a Christian, which is simply a believer in Christ, but I do not like people to assume that because I am Christian that I don't honor other religious beliefs in my heart. You need not agree with me, unlike some I honor all that is believed and unless you are a follower of Satan, I honor your beliefs. I read Tim Allen's book, I'm Not Really Here, and believe it or not it changed a lot about my life. As you can probably see I am a pretty open minded person. Read the book, it was awesome. It talked about Quantum Physics and Zen. Read it!! It was a lot more then what I expected.
