The cold chill of the summer air,
creeped around everyone standing there.
I walked slow that day,
Trying to make sure i didn't disturb your presence there.
I remember the day you held me close,
I remember the day you kissed my hand,
I remember your voice, you laughter, your calm
I'll miss you my love, were the last words I heard.
As I stand and look at you now,
I realize your lying alone.
Your face pale,
Your lips still.
I wonder if it's the pain you still feel.
I smile at you, hoping you'll wink,
as they lift up your casket,
and carry you away.
