The War on Terrorism might get downright personal for overweight America.

According to the United Nations World Health Organization, chemical, biological and radioactive agents in food could be used to kill, paralyze or sicken millions of persons.

Terrorist weapons of choice include viruses, bacteria, parasites, pesticides, poisons and uranium.

Farfetched?

An Oregon cult in 1984 used salmonella to contaminate salad bars in a trial run, resulting in 750 persons being hospitalized. The foiled next outbreak would have used typhoid fever.

And salmonella contamination in ice cream infected 224,000 persons in 91 American cities in 1994.

Most vulnerable to possible deliberate contamination are facilities used early in the food-production chain.
