Why spend billions of American dollars to return astronauts to the moon?
Why put future American generations even deeper in debt to send astronauts to Mars?
Why add to massive federal deficits already beyond control because of the War on Terrorism, homeland security, Medicare prescription drugs and those tax cuts for the wealthy?
Duh. Dubya obviously wants to reward the military-industrial complex, that’s why.
Don’t think for a minute that space exploration is about searching for signs of life.
It is all about searching for valuable geological resources and potential military sites for Halliburton and other American and multinational corporations to profit by.
NASA’s Spirit rover already is gathering all the information we need to know about Mars.
Dubya instead should concentrate on searching for earthly information about weapons of mass destruction. (18 JANUARY 2004)
