Join the list of fraud victims the next time you buy a gallon of gas for $1.59 and 9/10.

There is no coin for 9/10, so you pay $1.60 and get no change. Right?

Right. The oil cartels pocket the 1/10 difference—a huge rip-off since billions of gallons are consumed in the United States each year.

Other retailers offer product prices in 99-cent and 99-dollar increments as silly gimmicks to entice gullible buyers.

Those sellers, however, have no excuses for not returning the differences. Whole cents and dollars are legal tender in America.

Just as 9/11 spurred a war on terrorism, 9/10 should spur a war on fraud. (15 FEBRUARY 2004)
