Someone files a legitimate Social Security claim for a stress disability caused by the outsourcing of his trade or profession.

According to the Supreme Court, Social Security can arbitrarily deny someone insurance benefits and supplemental security income without considering the scarcity of jobs someone can perform.

As long as the person remains able to perform his previous work, the fact that the work no longer exists in “significant numbers” in the “national economy” is not a factor in rejection of a claim.

Talk about kicking someone when he’s down .

First the government encourages the loss of American jobs to foreign coolies, then denies the affected Americans economic assistance when their resulting stress leads to disabilities.

At least Dubya won’t be able to claim a stress disability if he loses his job next November. (21 MARCH 2004)
