What’s really to blame for America’s obesity?

Food, genetics, modern appliances, television?

None of the above. Blame motor vehicles and the suburbs.

Americans have forgotten how to use their legs. Neighborhood sidewalks rarely carry pedestrians anymore.

The American Journal of Preventative Medicine recently revealed that sad truth in a study titled “Driving, Walking and Where You Live: Links to Obesity.”

Living in a neighborhood with nearby shops and businesses can reduce obesity risks by 35 per cent, according to the study.

Hey, most of the obese persons in San Francisco are tourists. Few residents there have vehicles, so shanks mare has become an art form and alternative to dieting.
