Picture this: You desperately need a required course for graduation from high school or college, but the instructor doesn’t speak recognizable English.

The Green Card instructor probably was ignored in the screening process because of some politically correct gesture to diversity.

And the language-communication barrier isn’t confined to campuses. Try getting clear communications from foreign customer- and technical-support coolies who replaced outsourced Americans.

Meanwhile, America’s education establishment keeps insisting that all students must master a foreign language in order to graduate with a diploma or degree.

How about also requiring all instructors in America’s schools and colleges to master spoken English before their assignments to classrooms? (9 JANUARY 2005)
