Call off your Republican attack dogs, Dubya.

They’ve just mauled 35 million organized seniors in an Internet ad created by USA Next, a conservative competitor to the politically neutral American Assn. of Retired Persons (AARP).

USA Next (formerly United Seniors Assn.)--angry about AARP’s lack of support for Dubya’s plans to privatize Social Security--accused the larger geezer organization of having a “real agenda” favoring homosexual marriages and opposing the use of American troops in Iraq.

Huh?

The GOP-sponsored front is part of the O’Neill Marketing Co., which produced the fraudulent swift-boat ads attacking Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) during his recent failed bid for the presidency.

AARP, if you recall, actually endorsed Dubya’s dubious Medicare prescription-drug scheme, prompting thousands of its members to leave the nonprofit organization.

USA Next’s latest lies may cause fogies to turn some red states blue in the 2006 and 2008 national elections. (6 MARCH 2005)
