Some residents of Dork Street in Pico Rivera, Calif. want to rename the 69-year-old giggle producer.
Most residents, however, won’t sign a change petition circulated by a man fed up with the inevitable taunts.
For the uninitiated, some of the slang alternatives for dork are copulate, breed, hump, mate and screw. And dork also means cretin, airhead, boob, moron and lunkhead.
It could be worse. Other dorks actually live on Butthole Lane, Tit Hill Road, Virgins Avenue, Penistone Boulevard, Fartown Way and Crackpot Street in America.
Map revisionists everywhere should follow the example of former Nazi Germany and Soviet Union republics, which erased all geographic references to past naughty political leaders. (24 APRIL 2005)
