Increasing numbers of hurricanes aren’t the only evidence of global warming.

Look at your lawn. It has probably been growing for longer periods of time during the past 20 years.

A recent study by the Royal Meteorological Society blames climate changes for a one-month extension in the growing season.

The data came from a British man who kept a detailed diary on his lawn-mowing activities.

But that isn’t the only evidence of a warmer Earth.

It appears weather experts are running out of English names for hurricanes and may have to switch to Greek monikers to take care of future surplus storms.

Why not use other American disasters for names? Hurricane Dubya, Hurricane FEMA, Hurricane (Michael) Brown?

Fat chance. (25 SEPTEMBER 2005)
