Don’t blame holiday traffic accidents on booze alone.

Blame too much L-tryptophan from turkey. The amino acid induces sleepiness.

Of course, turkey alone won’t lead to driver drowsiness:

Add stuffing, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, deviled eggs, olives, cranberry sauce and pumpkin, apple and mince pies to the lethal gastronomical mix.

Motorists under glutinous influences ought to be one of the official highway no-nos, along with alcohol and drugs.

But hey, who wants to anger the agricultural industries in an election year?

Turkey almost became the national bird. Ganging up on gobblers would be akin to attacking Old Glory. (27 NOVEMBER 2005)
