Butt and butt-crack exposers breathed sighs of relief recently.

A Maryland appeals court ruled that the tush was not a private part (sex organ).

The circuit court judge dismissed an indecent-exposure conviction against a man who mooned his neighbor and the neighbor’s daughter during an argument.

In reversing the lower-court decision, His Honor compared the act of mooning to persons wearing thongs at the beach.

Plumbers and wearers of string bikinis now join a protected class including breast-feeding mothers and topless and bottomless females.

More importantly, the defining decision means that only male flashers can be legitimately prosecuted for exposing sex organs indecently.

It’s just one more setback for manufacturers and sellers of trench and rain coats. (22 JANUARY 2006)
