Here are eight practical steps to deal with America’s 12 million or so illegal aliens:
1-- Legislatively declare that children born here to parents from other countries are not American citizens.
2-- Make it a federal felony to enter this country illegally or hire illegal aliens.
3-- Allow local and state law-enforcement agencies to enforce federal laws on suspected illegals.
4-- Detain and send suspected illegals to active or mothballed military and naval bases, which already have guards, security fencing and surplus barracks and dining halls.
5-- Hire from America’s surplus lawyers to provide legal representation to suspected illegals facing expedited hearings before federal magistrates.
6-- If the suspected illegals can’t produce authentic proof of citizenship or legal residency in a timely fashion, they would be summarily deported.
7-- Surplus Amtrak passenger and dining cars would be used to transport the deported aliens to border points, under military guard.
8-- Or transported to ports, where America’s mothballed troop ships would provide armed passage to the aliens’ countries of origin.
