Viagra: a controlled substance?
It is a criminal offense to give or take someone else’s prescription doodads?
That’s hard pill to swallow (pun intended).
We’re not talking stimulants, opiates or other addictive products here.
And we’re certainly not defending Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk-show windbag who was caught recently by customs officials with someone else’s erectile-dysfunction pills.
Limbaugh, once addicted to painkillers and accused of doctor-shopping, must stay crime-free for 18 months to avoid prosecution on those complaints.
His lawyer says the prescription was written in Limbaugh’s doctor’s name “for privacy purposes.”
Whatever. Using anonymous ED medication is no more criminal than getting Lewinskied by a consenting adult. (9 JULY 2006)
