Canvas shopping bags—with handles. Reusable, washable and easy to carry.
Shoppers all over the world have been using them for years, probably because their markets don’t provide disposable bags.
American markets now should follow suit—not only to help their bottom lines, but to help the environment.
Think of it: Kraft paper mills will spew fewer noxious odors, petroleum used in making plastic will instead be available for vehicles, heating, jellies.
And more trees will be available for hugging, adornment with lights and bulbs and as canine urinals.
